PC Gfx Program for c64
Hi,
first I wanna say is that his is the best c64 base i've ever seen ;).
Well, this is my first day here and i have 2 questions:
1.
Do you know a good drawing program on the pc i could use to make c64 graphics. A program i could draw in the same resolution , the same curser like in Koala or Pain Magic and the sahme colors like the c64.
I tried it with phs but it is too big, i also know Congo but this is more a converter than a drawing program.
Did you have experiences with Paint Shop for example?
1.
Did you have experiences with the c-one is it really good for Demo coders and will my codes made on a c-one run on an original c64 without problems ?
;)
regards
CrocodileBuck

We all have a template for questions like this :-P
As for the C-One, not really.
It's too expensive and the current (PAL) C64 kernal is far from finished yet.
Better get one of those C64DTV's and mod it. Way cheaper and some experiments are already done with that.
See it as a cross-breed between the C64 and the Amiga... (C65 i might say...;-) |

I have had good fun using Project One. You're sure to get that cool "hey, I'm actually pixelling"-feeling. The interface is just as elaborate as it needs to be. Timanthes is also highly recommended.
Looking forward to the updated "save as executable"-function in both these otherwise excellent programmes! Hi to Oswald and Mirage btw! I'm checking for updates every morning! ;)

Arch
@Archmage: Meanwhile just send the binaries to your fellow groupmates and we'll make them executable. :D

Hehe, thanks mate! Mind you I'm also trying to apply some gentle pressure on the manufacturers in the name of public pixel-welfare here. ;) |

I have restarted working on P1. Executable saving is amongst the highest priority todo, but first let me clear up some of the most obvious and irritating bugs I have found.:) |

archmage: timanthes 3.0 (which sander gave you at that party) has everything you'd want: saving of executables (also bigger than 320x200), support for 256 colours, configurable colourramps, support for animation, support for UFLI, it doesn't crash and more... not sure what else you are waiting for :) |

@Mirage:
Any chance of Timathes 3.0 being released to the public ?
I`m currently restarting doing stuff for the C64 again (after nearly 15 years!) and i`m currently using the 2.3 version of Timanthes and Project One. |

BTW can Timanthes be run on W98? I have .net 2.0 and Timanthes terminates with error during startup...
