Possible solutions for the group/subgroup/scener issue?
Eim Back is a release by Irata. Code is credited in the scroll to the group Frankie Double Team.
If I was to add FDT as group it would look like a FDT release when it is infact an Irata release...
Could we consider making "group" and "scener" somewhat equal?
This way individuals could make releases, groups could be credited for a specific contribution, etc...
Before say 1987 it was quite common for individuals to release stuff. Around 1987 it was very common with "umbrella groups" (groups having individuals aswell as groups as members) which has been discussed here before.
It could ofcourse introduce some issues with presentation, but I think this could be resolved.

Well, the Frankie Double Team consists or consisted of two people and was a member (!) of Alpha Flight 1970 on CBM 64 and Amiga.
Even the screenshot GSS Party makes it quite clear. Both screenshots show AFL 1970 releases!
Frankie Double Team and Dr. Mabuse were e.g. responsible for the famous Cracker Journal (http://cj.untergrund.net) on Amiga. |

It would also be good to have the possibility to credit groups like 20CC or Vibrants for music since many demos doesn't give a specific credit to members of music groups & searching HVSC isn't always something one feel like doing :) |

Good example! Yes, precisely what I was trying to say:
Any credit should be able to be given either a group or a scener.
Any release should be able to be made by either a group or a scener aswell.
Thus... scener and group are equal objects, but groups may also contain groups and sceners.
Note: Possible recursion... but should work if done properly. |

Something others (incl. myself) have brought up several times, but I guess it can be a bitch to implement if the data-model is not prepared for it. |
