Moderation Poll

0. should the csdb community decide about how moderation should be done ?
1. do you want warnings before the mods delete forum posts?
2. would you like the mods add an explanation, when deleting a forum post?
3. do you want topics be only closed when the creator asks for it/when the topic is abused/flooded/flaming goes on ?
4. do you want closed topics not to be wiped off all comments just because its closed?

0.NO: decision will made by admins, but if they don't bow on serious issues, community will probably leave :-)

1.NO: if its against the rules -> trash

2.NO: not for the public, perhaps for the user himself, so he gets an explanation at once, so he knows what he did wrong, all others have to trust us in the first place ( yes, i know that isn't easy, especially in the last days ;) )

3. see 1., and why would anyone might want to set the creator above the community when some serious discussion is happening??

4.ONLY if its complete bullshit and mainly consists of post from 1. (but that should be the way it is anyway)

0. So long there are not any possible drawbacks, yes.

1. Yes - and also maybe put it in a seperate blog on the main page, like the new and updates blog.

2. Yes - (and the above statement ^ perhaps)

3. Yes, BUT if the starter of the topic is a retard who likes to deliberately insult for no reason, then close immediately or DELETE.

4. No (NOT wiped off), because it can hold evidence on how various sceners behave and that would encourage new users not to go the same way.

Yes to all.

Groepaz: "2. they do that already."

No, they don't. My message was deleted without as much as a notification to me about it. Later I have met with denial to even tell me who it was that censored it.

and this very post should be deleted aswell, because this thread is a poll, and not yet another platform for you to bitch about whatever.

0. Yes, absolutely. The site is supposed to be by the scene for the scene.
1. No, there are cases when posts should absolutely be deleted outright, but they are very very VERY rare.
2. Yes, always, otherwise it's impossible to know what is getting deleted.
3. No, but it should at least be taken into account, divergence is a natural part of forum discussion, being a LeeT about it and closing down a thread the moment it goes on tangent just discourages discussion which is..you know..what a forum is for.
4. No with the exception of a thread where life damaging problems could occur if the thread continues to exist (very rare). Records need to be kept as examples.

I took part of the poll. Also, what I said was not about "whatever" but very specifically regarding a particular question of the poll.

Do you CSDb moderators have a policy in place that calls for you to constantly try to obfuscate matters, throw out the facts and come in with wild general accusations?

0- this question is not solidified. if one answers yes that does not help as there needs to be a huge "how?" question
1- yes
2- yes
3- same as burglar. moderators shouldn't need consent, but explanation would help
4- same as groepaz.

0. Yes, this would add to the common sense of this open database, admins should have a veto right of course.

1. No, this would make deleting posts nonsense afterall, sending a warning to someone that his post will be deleted and he confirms it reading app. 1 week later.

2. Yes, a private mail is a must.

3. I dont care.

4. Dont care.
