Very interesting demo, which is different from many other demos in a certain way, the sound, the style, everything is very unique and i like it.

Spectacular stuff on this one - will a 100% version ever happen though?!

Unique gfx style with powerful looking effects. That motion capture dancer is surprisingly lively and the SID is memorable.
I guess the 100% version is scrapped. Shame...

I keep coming back to this one, mainly for the music. One of the best demo tunes ever!

I don't get this, awesome soundtrack but why is it mostly dowsed in some weird filter setting (or maybe it's just me)?

Just viewed again. After some distance one of my personal favorites from X (next to Artphosis & Coma Light 13). Would love to see a 100% version.

Wow very nice demo!, sad that it was only 80%, but you participated at X with style!. I can't wait to see the 100% version.. (you must finish it!) this is a great demo...
my faves are as ofcourse anything with color cycling/animations absolutely briliant.. more of those plz..
ofcoz the dancer, but I was actually more impressed with the dance moves it self.. (with hand clap ;) little oriental disco feeling ... (excellent)
and the piano music... just WOW it blew me away at the compo! it sounded so realisticaly (unbeliveable)

promise me to finnish this demo!! ;)

Love the music. It´s flying around in my head since x-party. And bringing mocap to c64 is fucking ace. Looking forward to see the 100% version.

This kinda stands out. It´s got this subtle laidback feel to it, both sound- and graphics-wize.

dancer is, as mentioned below "a few times" brilliant.

I really like the music as well. I´ll whistle that one for the rest of the family later on tonight. hehe

Great! :)

I have seen this demo 4 times now and I still feel like watching it again soon. I have not watched any of the other demos from X multiple times yet, although they are really great, too. But there is one thing that stands out with Protogeo: everything sits. The music catches me immediately and provides an ideal flow throughout the whole demo and fits very well to the unique style of the demo. Most other demos from X2012 fail in this regard, because their musics don't create a flow throughout the whole demo. There are stops and halts and that destroys atmosphere in my eyes. The only stop in protogeo is the full stop at the end, and it is intended.
Nightlord's clever 3D stuff is stunning and the looks of the "black pixel grid" gfx mode is very unique, looks like colours from outside the usual palette. The dancer is pure fun and if for nothing else, it is worth watching the demo again and again only to follow it, especially because each move is different and it is kind of impossible to observe everything the first time you see it. The one thing I don't like is the GLANCE logo screen at the beginning when the credits are over and it simply shows "glance". The screen looks too pale for me. It would be ideal if in that moment more colours/gfx would appear/fade in at some place. Apart from that, simply a killer.

solid stuff from my old group mates. triple thumbs up if somehow it's possible. :)

first of all, i agree with most of the comments below about the dance part, artwork, soundtrack etc. but i want to designate a missing point which is "the rest of the demo". :) actually, a similar thing happened to snapshot, many ppl focused on the same effects and didn't care to comment about the rest.

in short, i want to congratulate Nightlord for outstanding 3d parts, especially the dynamic texture & lightsource part. it's some serious shit! it's really weird for me to see not having enough attention for those parts.

this time, hydrogen surprised me with a different style both at artwork and soundtrack. i don't want to call it improvement since it's not better or worse in my eyes but "different". great work my friend. you just keep following the path you know.

and congratulations to endo for two main reasons.

1) for coding the part which took the biggest attention.

2) for being there when you are needed. it's really important.

what i'd like to see at 100% version are:

* perfect transitions
* at least 1 kick ass Norvax part. :)
* some classic Arcane style fullscreen graphics.

edit: i forgot the fact that Datura didn't contribute to this demo, either. let's say at least one more graphic by Datura. :)

WOW!!! Ok first thing first. No transitions just switching. That doesn't look good, but... THE design of parts, the graphician's style. Original looking effects. Cute ideas (dancer in greetings parts). I love your style guys. And hey, music works very well with the demo too. Very unique. Love it. It would be 10 if it was finished, but for this version it gets 8 + 1 as bonus for really catching my attention.

The motion capture dancing is original, and even looks as if it's synchronized to the music :) which makes it the best part of the demo by far!

Mh, crashed two times at different points now when I tried to watch it at home. Transfer error or is it because 80% version is a little bit unstable?
Anyways: I really like the piano-sound music in this one.

Love it! Very different feel to it than most current productions, lots of (to me) new ideas. Will the intro sequence in the 100% version contain animated reflections? Also, I enjoyed the graphics a lot. Very unique style. Well done!

Nice to see another demo from Glance and I'd say I enjoyed this one quite even if it's 80% finished. There are 3-4 parts with effects that nice and interesting enough, good design ideas and mellow music.

Some very fresh scenes, and very good music, but overall falls very short of what would be expected after such a demo like Snapshot.
