With the C64 having a second life nowadays. Are there any plans to use this engine in a (commercial) project? | User Comment Submitted by Compyx on 31 May 2017
I had expected a _lot_ of speedcode, making this unusable for an actual game. But at first glance, the speedcode is quite minimal. But I might have missed stuff.
One hell of a presentation though, code, gfx and music, all top notch. | User Comment Submitted by Pixman on 29 August 2015
Holy shit, this is the most impressive game engine I've ever seen. :)
I absolutely love this!
2 thumbs and 2 toes up! | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 18 October 2012
This was a fantastic experience for me as a graphic artist. I was forced to get into the thinking of something I didn't comprehend and to think economically about the building material.
It was very much about architecture, which I might know something about. Although it wasn't exactly that of any Sir John Soane or Lord Richard Rogers ;)
It was a heavy workload, and as for the involved persons, a very long discussion, a whole spring-summer and autumn went by, resulting just as a simple backdrop. I would also like to continue the project if it was to be re-set in the future... Re-Set or continued with new energy.
Everything was there back then, part just for some graphics missing and minor code.
What White Flame did was marvelous, even with his online video-tutorials on how to use his specific editor to draw and so forth. The comments and help from the team, supporting the general idea.
--- Although just getting a glimpse of Hein Holts artwork, it was splendid and never finished for the demo, I know this could have been so much more! | User Comment Submitted by Ksubi on 29 September 2011
Any news on this? Looks great, really looking forward to this release. | User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 22 December 2010
Would have loved to hear a new Jeroen tune for this game - not that Hein's music is bad (it's good) - but for nostalgic reasons! ;) | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 18 December 2010
technical diamond. the guy in the title reminds me of karl urban. | User Comment Submitted by Sledge on 10 October 2010
Wow! This was a very pleasant surprise. Looks wonderful! :D | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 9 October 2010 User Comment Submitted by der_ton on 9 October 2010
fantastic presentation, I love all that parallax scrolling, the one on the title screen with the "interlaced" overlay is a great idea! | User Comment Submitted by Comos on 8 October 2010

It looked even more beautyful on the big screen! It's rare that such a powerful engine is put to use - very excited about it. Good job :) | User Comment Submitted by Viscid on 8 October 2010
...nice high-resolution. And remember, they even got Cycles left ;) | User Comment Submitted by d0c on 3 October 2010

@Hein well I never picked up on that before, the moustache in the original painting.
The more I look at the moustache, and the open mouth, the more I think opera singer :D | User Comment Submitted by Hein on 3 October 2010
@willie: It IS a mustache. Oliver Frey painted the SLF with a pretty gay mustache. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 3 October 2010
For those who wonder, I made the level graphics in the preview. | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 3 October 2010
Intro screen: Looks a little like he has a moustache :D
I liked the rawness of the scrolling Hawkeye logo over mountain-range.
The little sprite guys look like they are wearing white spandex shorts :D
Good audio, reminded of the fantastic original.
The scrolling in game graphics look very pretty. | User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 3 October 2010

Nice to see this is really starting to make progress now!
Just for the record, my own involvement in this, the intro pic (pixelled in ifli) and the intro logo is around 10 years old. |
