This interface looks slick as hell, and with a built-in emulator? I'm sold. Wish I had a way of compiling Xcode projects. | User Comment Submitted by booker on 1 November 2014 User Comment Submitted by dandee on 19 September 2014
If I only had one with free, I would spend it on iCade support, as playing with touch controls is not working very well. | User Comment Submitted by Digger on 10 June 2014 User Comment Submitted by Reject on 14 May 2014
as S!NK and Elder0010 said | User Comment Submitted by Dano on 14 May 2014
tried it out on my girlfriends ipad2 yesterday. worked like a charm. everything feels smooth and solid. had no issues on the first run yesterday. even the implementation of the joystick works really good.
once again i'm utterly impressed with your work!
just awesome, have no other words! | User Comment Submitted by LKP on 4 May 2014
This is magnificent stuff , it works perfectly on my ipad mini. I hope this project is develloped even more in the future, like customizable (F) keys on screen. Thanks Andreas. | User Comment Submitted by STF on 23 April 2014 User Comment Submitted by algorithm on 14 April 2014
This is great! Seen the youtube preview. Would be nice to see this on Android devices.. :-) | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 14 April 2014
w00p! its running now! thanks mrsid ;)
the emu runs smooth so that rocks.
One feature request: enable "watch this prod" for all release types (like game previews, it seems disabled for those) | User Comment Submitted by dandee on 14 April 2014
G R E A T! Finally someone ported vice and even added a great frontend to use! So dumb question: everything on CSDB? Hence games and other releases too, right? ;) Where to get it? | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 14 April 2014
One thing that I forgot to mention is that everything you view in CSDb is cached on your iPad and you can watch it again if you're offline by going to the "Recently Viewed" category.
I was watching Coma Light 13 on a plane the other day... | User Comment Submitted by Scarzix on 14 April 2014
@Deev I agree, a HTML5 with responsive webdesign version of CSDb.dk would be AWESOME - I dont have the time unfortunately. Otherwise I would be happy to assist in that too. | User Comment Submitted by Queen bittin on 14 April 2014
Cool will this app ever be ported to iPhone ? | User Comment Submitted by Brush on 13 April 2014
Thanks to Mr. SID's help i have it now running on my ipad. All i can say is: WOW!.
The interface may have its quirks but is already very, very useable and the built in emulator is just what i've been missing on the ipad so far. Now let's go and see some demos :) | User Comment Submitted by Dr.Science on 13 April 2014
Fantastic! Works perfect, thanx Mr.SID! | User Comment Submitted by Deev on 13 April 2014
Ultimately the way to do this would probably be through the browser, with an HTML/JS emulator and a responsive layout for CSDB. That way, the platform is irrelevant. Not sure the technology is quite there yet though. | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 12 April 2014
yeah the design is very very nice. ipad meh :P | User Comment Submitted by grasstust on 12 April 2014
Fantastic! Can't wait for an app store release! | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 12 April 2014 User Comment Submitted by Rough on 12 April 2014
I don't like and use iPod at all, but this seems a well done application. | User Comment Submitted by Xenox on 12 April 2014
Mr.Sid: Don't show the Apple dudes the Emulator, put it in the background, tell us a keyword or key combination to activate the emulator! :D Maybe this works...! | User Comment Submitted by Elder0010 on 12 April 2014
android version please!!!! | User Comment Submitted by Sith on 12 April 2014
I don't like pads and other touch thingies, but this is a great idea for those who likes those. Thumbs up to anything that helps our scene! | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 12 April 2014
@Scout: Yes, I'm still thinking about these possibilities. I can also include the Top 100 of each category in the app itself (that's what they suggested).
But one of the main use cases for me is quickly checking out new releases to decide if they're worth to transfer to real hardware. | User Comment Submitted by Scout on 12 April 2014
Cool!
If you drop the emulator bit and replace it by a YT/Vimeo link (which needs a csdb alteration to add it with a release entry), Apple might approve.
Jailbroken iOS devices can still use the full featured Cydia version.
Just brainfarting here... | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 12 April 2014
Looks absolutely beautiful, can't wait to check it out when my gf's iPad arrives.
On the other hand, it makes me a bit sad (and concerned) that we've come to a point where we are producing CSDb clones in order to improve its usability on different devices, instead of making better CSDb itself.
*sigh* :/ | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 12 April 2014
@Knut Clausen: I always wanted to do iPad first, and think about iPhone later. There's no big reason why it shouldn't be possible, but many layout and navigation details need to be sorted out. Feel free to adapt the source for an iPhone target... | User Comment Submitted by itch on 12 April 2014
Oh you did mention Cydia, if I only could delete my last message... | User Comment Submitted by itch on 12 April 2014
It should be awesome if you could release this fine app in cydia, so that everyone with a jailbroken iDevice could us it without the need of developer account :P | User Comment Submitted by ѕiηk on 12 April 2014
nice work, android please!!! | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 11 April 2014
Fantastic! Yes please make an Android version as most people use that. :) | User Comment Submitted by Heavy Stylus on 11 April 2014
This is totally amazing. Love it. Well done Andreas! | User Comment Submitted by Knut Clausen on 11 April 2014
This is great. The project won't compile as an iPhone app - is there any reason other than the split view controller that is only available for iPad? A simplified iPhone version would be great for me, and I'll be happy to contribute. | User Comment Submitted by Cruzer on 11 April 2014
Wow! CSDb with a modern UI. Guess I'll have to get an iPad now. | User Comment Submitted by ruk on 11 April 2014
YES! I have been having wet dreams of an app like this for years. Finally I can make *real* use of my apple dev account :^D | User Comment Submitted by Xenox on 11 April 2014
AH, that looks great, cool idea, shit that Apple dislike this idea... :( | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 11 April 2014
@Cybortech: I don't jailbreak my devices, but I'm sure it will show up on Cydia sooner or later. | User Comment Submitted by Cybortech on 11 April 2014
@Mr. SID: jailbreak+Cydia? | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 11 April 2014
CSDB+VICE+C64Forever hybrid. Sweeeeet indeed. Android version required. | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 11 April 2014
@Cybortech: read summary! | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 11 April 2014
w00t, the preview looked awesome already.
so now, lemme look up my ipadmini device id ;) | User Comment Submitted by Cybortech on 11 April 2014
I don't find in App Store.
??? | User Comment Submitted by Scarzix on 11 April 2014
Totally cool with build in C64 emulator.
Just wondering, now that CSDb.dk clearly has a competitor, perhaps it was time to redesign the layout of the website too? I think most of the app's great design could be inspirational to a new CSDb.dk v2.0 ? | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 11 April 2014
@Sledge: Nooo! Don't throoow awaaaay theeee ceee sixtifoooour!!! | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 11 April 2014
Finally a good reason to buy iPad ;-)
Great work! | User Comment Submitted by Sledge on 11 April 2014
You know that this will render all my computers useless. My Ipad will cover all my needs from now on! | User Comment Submitted by psych on 11 April 2014
Excellent work. Will it also come for android? | User Comment Submitted by Slator on 11 April 2014
Wow, this looks awesome. Nice work. | User Comment Submitted by Aktar on 11 April 2014 User Comment Submitted by Sledge on 11 April 2014
