Revisiting this one, wow, WTAF? Bloody amazing. How? I don’t know. Absolute stunner of a demo!

Hey hey, look who's back around the corner!
Also the music is really good.
I love how this is scripted.

I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with a faster line algo, and considered it impossible since a few years, holy fuck Quiss :D

Knock, knock! Who's there? Crazy 4k compo winner! <3

What nasty tricks did you exploit so it doesn't run on my 128D (64 mode)? Will try again with C64. Have to grab it out of the box.

I've ran this a couple of times now and I also read the article and I still dont understand :)

super smooth, loads of content, lots of tricks, a very worthy winner

Great demo. Wait, what? This is a 4k :O Too bad we didn't get to talk at X, but this is great stuff either way.

It's really nice indeed and well deserved #1, and I'd like to see a video on YouTube of Quiss speaking and guiding us through the magic and trickery that we are seeing.

I came a tad too late into the hall so I missed the start when the 4k compo was going on.

Then looking at what was going on, it was clear to me in an instant that I watched the winner entry;)

This 1st place is *so* well deserved; I bet this had even placed very high in the demo compo!

Quiss, words are not enough to tell you HOW happy I am that you're back :) Stay a while, stay forever!!! (and now for real, pretty please;))

Excellent work!

And, publish or perish strikes again, I've been meaning to try using BRR for interpolation for donkey's years (I think I was calling it 'dithered add'), but it looks like it's never made it into anything I ever actually released 🤦🏻‍♀️. I'd say you've well and truly beaten me to the punch there :)

Nice write up of the technique, too. Love those animated diagrams!

The rotating cube, hanging around in the side-border over C64 boot up screen. I like that ^_^

Good to see this technique evolving even further! There's still potential and awesome to cram it into 4k + enslaving the floppy drive. Also thanks for the nice talk we had about this at the morning coffee on sunday! So good to see you active again! :-)

Unbelievably cool 4k demo. I sadly was occupied during the presentation on the big screen and couldn't enjoy it the way it deserves. Blew my mind when I looked at it later.
Very interesting read about the BRR lines also, although I can't quite wrap my head around it without seeing real code in action.

Beautiful, esp. the all border scrolling elements!

The "emu error" will go away if you use x64sc instead of x64. soci: At home, I tested with a real 1541, I don't actually own a 1541 Ultimate. I want to hear more about that issue you're seeing. Sent you a PM.

Only works properly if I use an 1571 with a C64C. With an 1541 and 1541-II the cube is distorted. Same result with another C64C. Tried shorter cable than standard and second drive on on bus (turned off) but no difference.

Fortunately the rules said "any 1541 compatible drive". Still this is pushing the boundaries the wrong way.

Absolutely jawdroppingly awesome. You totally rock, Quiss*! AMAZING.

*- I had to come back to edit my comment when I realised you did everything yourself! (I put "guys" first.. lol!)

Now this is an awesome piece of code. I loved during the compo for the obvious reasons (a great effect improved even further). I respect it even more after reading the technical paper explaining the technique. Congratulations and thank you for sharing!

Amazing coder pron. Size is quite puzzling. Also i was quite sure SMGF reached its limits. Apparently not! I'm really amazed by this one.

Haha lines go BRR!

I don't pretend to understand much of the technical explanation, but the cubes are impressively large and smooth, and cramming all of this into 4k is a small (pun intended) miracle.

That's beyond impressive for 4k, and even includes drive utilization as well.

The full-screen moving chessboard is awesome! Very clever coding behind it.

And the new BRR line method looks incredible.
