When you get more than 655.350 gold the basic game code will crash.
This is very, very, very, unlikely to happen when you play with or without cheats.
The game is designed that you should divide up plunder at some point of the game.
When cheating, excess amounts of gold can be reached and in that case we
recommend that you either divide up the plunder or remove gold with the editor.

after playing for a bit, I ran into illegal quantity errors. it looks like the new 500k gold limit (mentioned in docs) isn't low enough.

I plundered 255k (from panama I think) while already having 500k in gold.
it immediately crashed the game:
?illegal quantity error in 3992

and another one was in line 30.
