In the intro I referenced from 1994, I use $D016. In all my new intro's I tend to ROL those bits, as I do like my proportional fonts. : )

I made an intro not close the borders back in 94, just to get 40 char screen width, so it wouldn't ruin the design. As in this intro: Trance Balls Intro. If I change a few counters, it too is a 39 char scroller. I'm probably missing the point, so ignore my rambling! :)

Seems i owe you an apology MC; just tried my code on real hardware and it doesn't work, just as you were talking about in your thread. i'd take my hat off to you if i were wearing one.

@Compyx: Sorry, i don't understand which bug you mean. However, of course you can open the sideborder and use sprites to make the scroller over the full. But this method uses no sprites at all. You have them still available and you could for example make dysp over logo without the needless covered rightmost char.

@TMR:
I'm looking forward to your next MD with 39 chars wide logo wanker and 8 per scanline sprites over it, although i would expect that you need to write your own bmp to logo converter, beforehand.

If you can do this, why not just make a proper sideborder scroll? I've had the same bug when timing my open border stuff. I don't see the advantage.

PS: Nice logo
PPS: Didn't notice the 'eight scanlines', that may make stuff a little more difficult.

The timing isn't too difficult though, i have working protos but they do a larger area vertically. No point in finishing that code off now... =-)

i'm doing the same thing over seven scanlines in MD201511 since it split $d016 multple times during the scanlines. =-)
