Been watching this doozy again... 'tis the season! I'm still immensely proud to have been involved in its production - it was such a fun experience that helped me smile through what was, in all honesty, a pretty horrible period, and the result is pure festive C64 demo joy to last through the ages. Merry Christmas 2023 to all who celebrate it. <3

Source code is now added to Github here: https://github.com/RobertTroughton/C64Demo-PublicReleases

nb. Due to how we collaborated on this demo cross-group, the full sourcecode isn't available, only some parts include that (eg. all G*P coded parts).

Just getting around to voting for and commenting on this gem.

This certainly has a collection of beautiful graphics and solid effects, but for me the absolute highlight is the soundtrack. Each cover is extremely tasteful and lovingly crafted.

Happy to say good bye to 2020 while watching this. Thank you guys for your 9 week rush to get this out :)

Easy 10.

Wow. I’m kinda glad I didn’t see any reviews or anything on this until I saw a post that it was #1. Didn’t read any reviews just watched it. I knew it would be good but just... wow. I haven’t felt this way about a demo in a -very- long time. The snow-writing was an awesome surprise and had me literally laughing. Just amazing!

Loved all the tunes and the graphics. Probably it was a huge organization effort to get this done. Respect! It carries the positive atmosphere we desperately needed in 2020. Happy new year and a late Merry Christmas to all the creators! Cheers.

@walt sadly everything is reddit fodder.. regardless of if you are a great coder or make some amazing thing with ardunio . such people are all about "views" and going viral not actual talent, sadly I've no skills in either..happy new year, hope the coding is going well.

What can I say? This demo *is* mega!

There has never been a better realisation of the christmas theme (including other platforms, adverts, whatnot;)). Every part in it is absolutely great, but somehow the decoration-part sticks out for me.

And now that xmas is over, I can confirm that none of the presents I found under the tree came even close to this one here:))

Thx a lot for this, dear elves!

Accordingly to my "Flip Disk" tunes.
Here come the correctly names:
Flip Disk Side 1, "Mice's Christmas" (the PG name version).
Flip Disk Side 2, "The Little Sugar Baker".

The S1 song is a Swedish trad song called, "Mössens Julafton".
The S2 song is a trad. song called, "En Socker bagare".
That's it ;)
User Comment
Submitted by JCH on 20 December 2020
You're right. I missed the second "Flip Disk" tune in the YouTube video.
User Comment
Submitted by iAN CooG on 20 December 2020
flip disk 1 is Xiny_nutcracker.sid, I've ripped it. Xiny\Mices_Christmas.sid is flip disk 2 tune. So the provided sid pack is incomplete and the credits for those 2 parts are a bit messed up ;)
User Comment
Submitted by JCH on 20 December 2020
Thanks, Raistlin.

Also, are you sure "Mices Christmas" is in this demo? The first "Flip Disk" tune sounds different.

My sincere thanks to all of my fellow Santas for being such a great bunch to work with. Trap, Raistlin, and Sparta were utterly heroic in their organisation and management of this project, and I really mean that. What a privilege it was for me to have a little involvement in this thing.

Merry Christmas to all in the C64 scene!
