Thanks for the nice comments!
@MuZZa: "Fettbirb" was created by Agnes originally, she mentioned it can have that effect if you stare at it for too long (it tends to appear at any available whiteboard/blackboard space in the office)
@Carrion: It certainly was a lot of work planning all the effects in the border areas, especially when hitting a bad line at the same time as a sprite swap! And there are far too few sprites to cover up the top and bottom border effectively without expanding!

What a great piece!

This IMO is a great example of demoscene pixelart and coding going well together. I try to do border gfx myself (with help of Bonzai coders, ofcoz) so I know how much effort, trade offs and planing it takes.
So... This one here - really well done!
Saying this... I have no idea who this guy and characters are...

It looks like Bukowski. Well at least the blue bird in the sweater reminded me of Bukowski's bluebird poem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyMS4qJ8NXU

This was a work art challenge that ended today, with the inspiration coming from AgzMiku on twitter and Leif GW Persson (Swedish TV personality and lifestyle brand) thrown in as a wildcard.
