Regarding the unusual high amount of downloads; there are two reasons for crazy download count: drugs and p0rn. In this case? Well: "Does Amanita muscaria Get You High? The answer you've been waiting for is yes, A. muscaria can get you high".

But then. You will never beat Find the Pussy. ;)

Hey guys.

I just noticed on the live stream from QBParty where our demo was played (among the others), that the demo didn't run till the end and it stuck at the black screen after Twisted Vectors effect (Cubes in Cube).

As this is 80% version, some people might think that this is the end of the demo.

But, this is NOT how this demo ends.

The end of the demo is fullscreen SAMAR logo screen with "The End" title on it (checkout YouTube videos).

Twisted Vectors effect in this demo is using DriveCalc and in order to resume the demo correctly after that effect, you need to make sure that floppy disk ID is the same as in the original D64 image (it is '22'). Also no other devices can be connected to serial port except drive 8 as DriveCalc is using 2bit comm. protocol.

If your copy of Amanita is also stuck on black screen then just make sure to format your floppy disk with ID '22' (I'm using Formatting tool from Action Replay) before you copy d64 image on it.

Also please make sure to copy all used sectors + whole track 18 (some software might ignore some sectors in this area).

If you are using OpenCBM (which I'm personally using) to copy the d64 images to physical floppies, then once you format disk on C64 with the aforementioned ID you can write the d64 images to floppies like this (notice '-B' param which is important here):

d64copy -B -t serial1 ./Amanita_by_Samar_Disk_A.d64 8
d64copy -B -t serial1 ./Amanita_by_Samar_Disk_B.d64 8

For Ultimate Cartridge users:
Please make sure to disable all 1541 software emulation, along with 'software IEC' emulation, otherwise the demo might hang up at the beginning or might also stuck on black screen.

Wow. Dig this demo. A lot of hard work and top notch effects. Nice to see such demos brightening our scene. Respect. Tree at the start, flip it part stayed on my mind. Need to watch it again.

@Jammer My definition RT might be loose and imprecise but if you can replace few small luts (siuns tables etc.) or textures/fonts in the memory and the effect still works it's real time. If all the memory is filled with speedcode that can only be generated offline on PC then its more of an animation.

But that's my opinion, I'm mostly doing raster effects anyway.

@Oswald: Nothing on C64 is realtime, technically speaking ;)

Samar congratulations on this great Demo! Everything looks prestigious, I like everything you've done, it's a phenomenal demonstration. Code, music astonishing robot! I have to write one more thing, I was very taken by Jetan's and Isildur graphics, a lot of impressive pixels. I am a fan of your graphics! In conclusion, congratulations once again on the victory and on the amazing production!

Another brutal demo released at Moonshine Dragons.

Seeing all the effects already makes it shine like a diamond, but after reading the notes what was done behind the scenes (SpinGo, scripting tools including inbetween-drivecalc) it shines even brighter!

And what Golara said: at quite some spots, the typical 90ies demo design shines through - which is *very much* to my liking!

I very much like what my eyes and ears witnessed, i favour technical stuff a lot and it seems like lot of work and toolwork went into those ideas! :-)

@Wile Coyote Very good. That is, the psychedelic effect came through. Because you don't immediately see what you're looking at. Everything flows, changes and is not what it seems at first. :) Amanita Muscaria - shamanic mushroom.

The rotating plotter mushroom shape that morphs into other shapes complete with additional FX looks excellent!
The part feat. the image of the triangle complete with 8x spinners on wave effect works very well.
Audio sounds rather amazing!
I spent quite sometime staring at the FLIP IT part before i spotted the text FLIP IT ;D

I hope it's not just me who thinks this has really 90s look to it. A lot of math effects and that interlaced pic at the end ?

Ultra-stylish, precisely what I want from a Samar production. The flow of the parts is breathless; I can't see how anyone could get bored watching it. I wonder what the 100% version will be like...
