Very nice demo!! yes Anim combined with Color Cycle and other Fx! That is really impressive, TBH I don't even know how you fit all those animations in and then colorize every single frame in it. That is not easy! + adding another fx to it.
of course my fav parts are color cycles ;) Thanx for stretching the horizon here !

What a blast this demo is!! I really liked Bimber style and Jammers music, besides the nice code!

What a show! Everything in this demo works perfectly. I liked the vectors the most (wired ones and rubberized gouraud). Bimber's graphics are excellent, and again that brilliant Jammer... You make a great team.
It's hard to compare this demo to Cepelia demo, that's why a draw (that's how I see it) seems to be perfect here.
It was great to meet you again at the party <3
See ya around folks :)

I added some trivia about the demo and the parts, enjoy.

That wasp scene is so cool, instantly reminded me of that old Nooon demo. While these 'smart' big animations are impressive, I think you had a better selection / variation in E2IRA. Nevertheless liked the Amigaish design and the syncing with the soundtrack.

But the graphics from Bimber... i cannot express my admiration enough!

Super demo. Great graphics from Bimber makes it shine as those are next level, Jammer as usual made amazing music, with code and animation from Luke and Wacek it created extremely good show. To the last minute i was not sure who will get first place. To me we are all winners, Arise, Gordian and Elysium. We rocked the place, and c64 demo compo was the best part of Xenium 2024. Lots of love to all sceners!

@Oswald: realtime eye vector, realtime motion-blur effect, realtime dripping effect, realtime gfx mirroring, particles (precalculated but not animated), combining of asynchronous "bitplanes" on the fly etc. Shitload of new stuff.
Yet you, Edhellon and some others somehow have no issue with simple animation loops in Cepelia. Yeah, it's the "techniques" that are an issue ;)

I must add the bee scene is really cool.

A lot of work great design and cool ideas here. Still not big fan of the "techniques" :)

Sending my kisses to Bimber, I really adore his style.

@Matt, thanks! But I need to stress, that we really are one design team with bimber :) we really are "on the same frequency" when it comes to how the things should look like, and the choices we make are consulted (I suck at colors, for example). I love the graphics he made for this demo, in some cases they are even inspiration for whole parts (see: swallower of worlds which came about strictly from the background image).

@Burglar: for this moment I think there will not be another demo in this series. I can clearly see it's not the techniques we use that are to blame, as others use it even more primitively and do not get the same pushback. I don't know what it is and I am less and less motivated to look for it.

Congrats guys on another amazing demo! I loved every moment of it. I especially dig the gfx and soundtrack by Jammer is a true masterpiece. Also I'd like to thank Wacek for giving me, Zephyr and Jetboy a cosy place to stay overnight. You are a true c64 friend.

Fuck off, no way!
@Wacek, I don't know you, you don't know me, but I have been lurking around for over 35+years and sir I must say you are simply the king of design, a league on your own. The quality of your productions are simply beyond words.
Anyways, hats off to you and the whole Arise team! Respect!

Not a single second wasted here, pure killer parts from top to bottom. The greets part is madness. The inertia vectors thing and the Unknown Pleasures-esque thing... all looking so nice. Definitely a demo to return to again and again. Great production, great (subtle!) message. Arise rocks!

Thanks all for the warm comments.
@Trident, thanks for noticing this node to „Stars” (we all love this demo!), there is also a node to Atari demo „Numen” in the beginning of side 2, also accompanied by Jammer emulating Pokey chip with SID, which some might have missed… ;) he is a fucking genius, no less!

oooh yeah great!

the dithered landscape during the credits that suddenly get a layer of motion blur - very very cool.

the z-colored rubber cube that casts its shadow onto the wobbly radial background is awesome. very fast updates too, so i have no idea how all that fits into memory at the same time.

the stars / nooon reference may be easy to miss, but if you love that demo, you'll see and hear it immediately - lovely!

The naming scheme suggested there could be a sequel to E2IRA and boy what a sequel it is! Very, very well designed demo (as usual i should add) not such a shock as E2IRE as we now all know how it's done but from the visual perspective - top notch stuff here. As usual you also pushed the art of c64 animation one notch higher by clever application/enhancements. For me the highlight of the demo was Bimber graphics. I simply love it. LOVE IT!. Music complements it really well too. I don't think that when both groups started to work on a new demos, we expected to end up in the same competition but finally it was a pleasure and honor to be in the same competition with you (and in your hometown as well). Until the next time. Because there will be next time, right? :)

nice enough demo.. but came across as really "designed" to me , just seems a lot of hires and colour map stuff was used. nice enough, but needs more of a "jaw drop" to make me think it's a 10. not stick to the "formula" makes me smile

Awesome music, Jammer! Especially parts of side B were extremly "challenging" for a demo soundtrack – bold move – great execution.

Thank you guys, this is solid as a rock! BIG effects. Soundtrack alone is massive and all the sync sure paid off. Seems like Jammer has a distinctive "Arise mode" in his vast repertoire, in a blind test I would have said it's Arise. Not easy being still different when you're obviously after a continuum here.
Perhaps at first glance it didn't immediately hit me as hard as E2IRA on the first run, maybe thanks to my (unfairly) massive expectations. ;-)
Still, what a great and entertaining demo, kudos to all 4 guys involved. Only the greetings-list was a slight personal disappointment.. :-)
Hope to see ESIR4 in the future.
