Saw this for the first time just now - and, wow, really cool stuff! How many demos like this have I missed during my sleep I wonder??? | User Comment Submitted by prowler on 23 March 2018
One of the best C64 demos ever! Great music, gfx and effects. | User Comment Submitted by Sith on 15 February 2017
Always great, always top. I <3 Samar 100% | User Comment Submitted by Wisdom on 21 May 2013
Somehow I missed this demo when it was released, so I just watched it today. Lots of energy and some very cool moments. Loved the cybervector and big object parts. And the music is lovely. Thumbs up, guys! | User Comment Submitted by psych on 3 February 2013
I've watched this demo today once again.
You need to love the design. Some great effects, excellent graphic and very good music.
Great! | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 2 July 2012
Super demo! and the music by Conrad is so so good! Great melodic stuff.
| User Comment Submitted by Brush on 16 January 2012
Good job guys!
@Wegi: So you've finally managed to "escape" from the disc drive and you infected the c64 with some demo code :)
@Isildur: Some nice spots but you haven't outdone yourself comparing to Dream Travel. Still it's respectable how much quality stuff you pumped out in 2011
@Conrad: I really liked the end tune!
| User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 16 January 2012
Whoa... Am I wrong or is this quite significantly improved from the party version? Amazingly smooth and stylish demo, respect to the Samar guys! | User Comment Submitted by wacek on 15 January 2012
Fixed the youtube link above for you guys ;) | User Comment Submitted by Axis/Oxyron on 15 January 2012
Top notch demo, guys!
Now we love the cube, so its time to make us love the donut and the duck, too. ;o)
| User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 14 January 2012
I did not expect this. This demo was a punch in my face and while I thought the 90% version was quite OK, this version is truly exciting! Not only do I love the cube (especially the lollipop girl eyes), but also the many top notch gfx, msx (gets better and better to the end I think) and also the humour. The lines "Cubes are human beings, too! (...) So try to love and understand them like we do!" are classic. | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 14 January 2012
I must say, when you do create a demo that looks like this and it is more codebased than graphic based in amount of mem... I am still really impressed by the amount of stuff you pulled on to fit inside the one and some disk side here... This demo is super, I just do want you to know that we in offence see the massive work you have done here and it shines like a diamond in the c64 line of releases... super! | User Comment Submitted by Elder0010 on 14 January 2012
wise usage of hires, polished coding and cool effects in this inspiring work! outstanding! :) | User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 13 January 2012
@Wile Coyote, that's not a Bronson, i'm too afraid of him to use his face in our demo ;P
| User Comment Submitted by BHF on 13 January 2012
Its a cool demo, like the plotscrollers a lot :) and side 2 of the disk contained more than I first though :)
Some strange colors here and there, but thats just my cents. Keep it coming guys ! | User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 13 January 2012
Xiny, thanx for your effort, great work! | User Comment Submitted by Xiny6581 on 13 January 2012
This demo is simply 100% perfect! With excellent music, stunning graphics and incredible code, what more to want? Awesome work guys!
For those who'd like to listen to the songs but for some odd reason don't have the hardware to do it. I made a "little something" for that slice of the orange.

I love the cube too! Great work guys! | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 13 January 2012
I enjoyed watching the demo. ... and wondered how much you packed onto side one... and believing there's gonna be the same amount on side 2. There was just a Note.. | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 13 January 2012
Wow! Liked it very much! Some excellent code, gfx + msx! | User Comment Submitted by Mr Wegi on 12 January 2012
@Lemming - try do this on the last part FPP, notepart, or allways when loader working | User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 12 January 2012
Indeed Kisiel, one coder, one musician and one graphician. True army isn't it?
| User Comment Submitted by Kisiel on 12 January 2012
@Didi, I don't like this demo either, you know what it's best, animation makes design, nice picture from PC, and some speed code routines made on 4 core AMD CPU... it rules in 2012, not old school demo like ILTC.
Shame on you guys!!!!
UPS. this is one coder demo? | User Comment Submitted by Didi on 12 January 2012
Might be a good piece of codework and I cannot do anything like this. But I don't like the overall style of the demo, sorry. | User Comment Submitted by Iapetus/Algarbi/Wood on 12 January 2012
The previous version was somewhat bland/okeyish but with the extra stuff now makes it a fine demo. Congrats. | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 12 January 2012
I think this demo deserves better comments but it's not up to me of course. Or maybe it is my coder's perspective. ;) Maybe there is nothing new or shocking but I always liked big and nice vectors!
At the other hand, since this is supposed to be the 100% version, I'd expect less glitches. Some cropped, partially buggy vectors (like the pyramid at the right bottom corner in the girl with the lollipop scene) disturbed me a little bit.
But overall, i liked the demo. | User Comment Submitted by Bago Zonde on 12 January 2012
Great demo, nice work guys! According to video on youtube, I really like music mood and design begins from 3:00 to 4:30. It's great part I really enjoyed. Also there's very nice graphics, so I'm waitin' for more from that team :). Rock'n'code!
| User Comment Submitted by netrom on 12 January 2012
Great demo - made me want to start coding assembler again, if only I had the time.. :) | User Comment Submitted by joker_ on 12 January 2012
excellent work, yes i love cube. | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 11 January 2012
Nice! I love scrollers, so the dot scroller is a home run with me :) | User Comment Submitted by Ksubi on 11 January 2012
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, the 100% version. Some highlights for me: the large vectors with in vectors, the dot plotter/scroller (loved it!), the hi res gfx and the music by conrad... very nice production guys. | User Comment Submitted by Heavy Stylus on 11 January 2012 User Comment Submitted by SplAtterpunk on 11 January 2012
I like some of the parts more & some parts a bit less but overall watching this demo is a very nice experience. Only one man behind the demo coding, well... good job. Need to add that the music is totally outstanding. | User Comment Submitted by RaMoS on 11 January 2012 User Comment Submitted by wacek on 11 January 2012
I know I can be honest, because you guys can take it :)
A solid and appreciated effort, however quite uneven - going from brilliant moments to disappointing ones. For me the part with stripes moving in the background (a "flying" cube) was the highlight (a great design idea, I loved it since I saw it first time at Silesia, before the compo on Wegi's computer - yeah, I was spying a bit :D), coincidentally also a favourite moment in the soundtrack. But some parts, like the girl with the lollipop just don't work for me. Complex vectors were quite impressive, but on the other hand hires patterns part felt out of place. A lot of work put into code, graphics and music, but you really need to work more on the design IMHO. Still, it's first release from this trio - the next one will be even better, I am sure of that! :)
And by the way, nice to see Samar back in action! | User Comment Submitted by kenji on 11 January 2012
Great!
Lub po swojsku Zajebiste! | User Comment Submitted by Puma on 11 January 2012 User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 11 January 2012
@Cobra, thank you girl!
There will be more for sure, we are just warming up ;) | User Comment Submitted by Cobra/Samar on 11 January 2012
demo of the character.
Great music, code and graphics.
I want more:) | User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 11 January 2012
@PAL, thanks for kind words, we'll try better next time. | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 11 January 2012
Really liked many parts, especially the hires pattern effects. The music is unique and interesting. Great work guys \_Q_/
| User Comment Submitted by Mr Wegi on 11 January 2012
@Digger - Tomek thx pozdrowionka po latach :)
@PAL - we'll change everything ;-) now we started (from scene wars) :D | User Comment Submitted by lemming on 11 January 2012
I tried to press the space bar but it just kept coming at me! :o
| User Comment Submitted by Digger on 11 January 2012
@Kisiel: Pal is just being overly sarcastic there (as I guess he had to at some point) ;-)
@Mr Wegi big up Grzegorz! Nice job there! | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 11 January 2012
I liked the music most of all.
Samar T.V. was that Bronson on the screen ?
If so, I happend to watch they film some days ago. What a character.
I'm not a huge fan of 2 colour hires, too Speccy for my tastes, although I think you got away with with during the large scrolling C64 Greeting screen. I liked that. | User Comment Submitted by Conrad on 11 January 2012
The last tune (that infamous "Hoodlum" tune everyone knows ;)) was meant to start at the "dead cube society" part... I guess I was too late to inform Wegi. :(
Enjoy anyway! | User Comment Submitted by Nemezis on 11 January 2012 User Comment Submitted by Kisiel on 11 January 2012
@PAL, with your dick you can make project "DO IT YOUR SELF" beside trolling and demanding :) | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 11 January 2012
Horrible, booring, crappy demo!!!! maybe one good thing in there but that is it! ...all is wrong to my likings, why highres when you could have used multicolor? And I see that you could have used multicolor when I feel it is better with highres... and some letters in one of the font is bad, and I would use another font on the red image with text on, I do not like that font you used, god damn, why did you bother to paint that image that way? I do not like it, it would have been better in blue, so make it blue then... vector is to fast for me, should have been updated less per frame because I like it a bit slower than what you created... I meen, come on, do it in another fashion... make it slower or drop the part. At the end screen, he should not have a hat, that is just plain silly, he should have hair.... dont you get anything down there? What are you? You should change your handels all of you and also group name, I hate it! And why use the sid for music? that is so 1989... The demo should have been named "I HATE the Cube 200%" I would say you managed to put 10 pixels in the right place in all of the demo, that is it, the rest is the insane crap and lame.
I can not sit here and lick my dick, I must start demanding quality!
hmmm.... I LOVE THE EFFORT AND YOUR DEMO! GREAT! | User Comment Submitted by Kisiel on 11 January 2012
Excellent coders work, great music (Conrad TM) ... we waiting for more!!!
Two demos per year from Samar! | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 11 January 2012
Some very nice effects. Colourful and great music. | User Comment Submitted by Mr Wegi on 11 January 2012
It's perfect time to release 100% version of the "I Love the Cube", a very important part of our lives. Please, enjoy. |
