We already have the Bitching Topic for that.
People should use that one more often.

So Perff, give this topic a lock.
And Oswald, start bitchin' in the Bitching Topic!

Commodore, since the VIC-II was developed with sprite multiplexing in mind.

First "almost mega-DYCP":

Frodoletter
(1987 is wrong though, I think it was 1986 too.)

First real mega-DYCP:

The Awakening

First FLD for every char-line:

Think Twice

First Koala stretcher (and first FLI-like routine):

Partysqueezer+

First FLI-splitter:

Charlatan

First FLI-picture:

So-Phisticated III

First VSP:

VSP&IK+

First CPU-based FPP:

1 MHz

First $D011-based FPP:

Random

First sideborder routine:

Border Letter I

First sideborder sprites to extend charset/bitmap area:

Impossible Demo
(no, the scroller is not done with expanded sprites)

First ESCOS picture:

ESCOS I

etc

repeating post :)

for FPP I'm personally not sure who was first but definately
CREST made an FPP-Routine earlier:

Blow Job 3

the release date [20.04.1989] is to be seen on the screenshot!
(and that date is earlier than [26.06.1989])

Blow Job 3 works as well (release id=xx), is a lot easier for us common folks ;)

Bones made a dypp in 1989:
The Larch 3

Biggest dyppers. Well One Year Camelot 3/Camelot and Oksen/Starion had some big dypps:
One Year Camelot 3
Oksen

"Who made first what?" in C64 Coding

There's who made what first and who made the most impresive version of an effect.

CSDb should have a chart of who made what 1st complete with who mad best version of effect.

for example:
What is the best starfield effect on C64. The 1st starfield on C64 was not probably the best starfield on C64 (i have no idea who made the 1st on C64).

3 starfields i can think of that are great would include:
The starfield from the demo 3 Years Camelot
The starfield from the game Mega Apocalypse
The starfield from the game Delta

If i were to include Plot tunnels, then that award would goto the plt tunnel to feature in Taboo's demo Altered States 50%

Okay, we'll all do rasterbar demos - if we're not thinking about history, it's all new! =-)

What about spending some time to code yourself instead of all this whining. I know what you're capable of, but lately you seem to have lost a grip or two.
