Tile editor for MCBM
Hello,
Are there similar to CharPad tile editors for the MultiColor Bitmap Mode? (Not charset)
Thanks |

You can use Multipaint and if you want to convert down to screen/cset data, save to PNG and import that into charpad.

OK, cool and CharPad will also keep per-char colors or does it convert them to MultiColor Charset mode?
But I guess you suggest to use it solely as tool to place the tiles right? |

for this I just used Pro Motion NG, you set the palette to the C64 one ( built in), set the pixels to 2x1 scale. Set the colour limits to 4 per 4x8 1 fixed background. Then you can use it tiled mode to draw. Or make the full maps with the chars then use it tiled mode to convert to tiles and map for you. |

If I were doing this, I would just use something like LDtk. Then you "just" need a tool to convert from LDtk's format (which is simple to read) and whatever your final file format is. LDtk can also "just" export a large PNG for you. |

Very nice. This is what I wanted. Thanks a lot! |

Apparently the new version of CharPad pro supports what I want.
