Charpad-Some Sugestions to Stewart Wilson

Sorry for writing here Stewart, I do not have your email. I am a skiled games developer, since 1995 making games for all the plattforms.

It about Charpad, please accept my sugestions and petitions.

Please do Charpad interface more like TILED, I think is more confortable:

You can zoom in and out the map (very usefull if you whanna make 2000x700 tiles map)

You can load the tiles screen in PNG,BMP or TGA, you always see the tiles on the same order you draw before.

You can pic a group of tiles and paste on the MAP, and you can pic on the map a LARGE SECTION and paste werever you like.

The possibility to maximize the window and work showing more map.

Please take a look to TILED and see how usefull is his interface.

I'm an unskilled games developer coding games on one platform only and I second these suggestions! Especially the import and zoom options.

If you need more advanced features, why not use a proper tile map editor, such as the excellent Tiled? Draw the charset in charpad, test the tiles in the map mode, and then export the tileset and do your levels in Tiled.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions, I will consider them for future releases.

Just to say that you already can select any size map area and cut, copy, paste. Just use the selection tool, and use SHIFT to select your second point.

PS. a soon to be released version has an option to "Save tile-set as Bitmap Image" so you can easily import them into Tiled if you want.

Cheers.

ps. my email is subc AT operamail.com
