C64 Coders needed for RPG

Greetings Programmers!

We have been working on a game similar to Wasteland, Bard's Tale III, and Dragon Wars for a year now. We have been developing the story, scenarios, location maps etc and were about to begin programming when our lead programmer became ill and incapacitated.

We need a couple of people who can program assembly code for:
1) engine
2) creation tools: map, item, monster editors
3) Graphic artists

Feel free to email us here: 8bwinfo at gmail dot com

Thank you in advance!

-Seth

Quote: Hi everyone,

The game has evolved quite a bit: tile/graphics/map editor done (scripting yet to be added) and a 3d ray casting program is almost complete!

Just thought I 'd let you see some of our progress for the game here: https://www.facebook.com/LawlessLegends

If you have any interest in helping out with coding or graphics please contact us~!

Thank you again!

Nice goal that you have set for yourselves and that ray casting engine sounds really interesting.

Any chance of seeing video of it ?

Looks like bit of a hassle setting up and compiling whole project.

The editing tools are currently only coded for Apple II, but the c64 branch of the editor is in the works. Many of the materials we are creating can and will have portability to the C64. Things like Maps, Scripts, etc. can be transferred no problem already. Tile and wall textures may not but we can work around those issues easy.

We really want a C64 version and it's very early enough in the game that it's an excellent time to go multi-platform before we're too married to the A2. That way we are developing for both platforms together and no one is left doing all of the coding for one platform or the other. :)

The current Apple II coders do have some knowledge of c64 assembly language, but it's not their native platform of course. It would be best to have coders who are more familiar with the c64 platform.

We will have video of ray casting in the next couple of weeks!

We still need a couple of coders for the c64 side. :)

thats's one of the best raycasters I've seen on 8 bit. speed is not great, but pretty much on the acceptable side for the resolution and nice looks. Step speed for rotation and movement well choosen.

No one carries the load alone: We have 3 Apple II coders and 2 C64 coders currently. We all do whatever chunk of project we like at our leisure. :)
