Finding out about old c64 groups....

Hey everyone...

I recently scored quite a bit of .t64's, but that's not my question here..

One of the releases was Zamzara (one of my all-time favorites). So I figured, what the hell and loaded it up. It was cracked by some group or guy called YATTERKING, even has an intro and trained quite well (i think +7 or 8). Does anyone have any information about this person or group, as they are not listed here.

Ahh you mean the Yattering which were a guy from UK and a special guy. It was Tri-Dos playing hide and seek.

In the last Illegal issue you can read the text about The Yattering

That would be The Yattering.
Sure it was Tri-Dos? If so, a merge would be in place.

If you check Issue 38 of Illegal Tri-Dos wrote the following text. As I understand it then Tri-Dos and The Yattering is the same person.

NOBLE CROSSING
When a rumor went around originally started by STEVE of ZENITH that when I was in IKARI I got some guy to always crack games for me. Anyway there was no truth but some people went on about it like even NIK of IKARI. Well I quit the C64 and IKARI and then returned several months later in PANINARO with BAMBAM, PACO, MAGNETIC/USA, FALCO, a guy called YATTERING and myself. And it was myself and YATTERING who done the cracks.
Then rumors started to go 'round again that YATTERING did all the cracks and dickheads like SHARK of INC would go around saying he did all the cracks, and I was just a spreader. Well, he was right! It was both TRI-DOS and YATTERING, the same person and not even the other members in PANINARO know this, so all you people with your false claims were true in their own right, but it looks as if you've been doublecrossed. /PAUL (TRI-DOS)

Whenever I do a search here, I always try alternative names (with THE, without). Amazing how I was unable to find this person.
I am a bit depressed that I can't convert the .t64 image though. I will try to upload the file without an image, and let someone else take care of that, even though I dislike doing that (style's dirmaster will convert the t64 to a t64, but not a .d64). I'm not sure why that is, maybe it's something I can ask in the future though.

Since I've been with the c64 (early 1989), I've never seen this group. I thought I scored with the release. Although it's not on 'the base', it will be shortly.

Thanks for your help guys..

PS. I swear the logo in the intro say YATTERKING, not YATTERING!!!! (it was 2am in the morning, that's my excuse)

Zamzara +6

Heh, funny how my claims from 18+ years ago still pop up now and then.

I never fully bought Tri-Dos's explanation but that's the dickhead part of me. :) I'd be interested in what Relax Design members had to say about the matter as The Yattering was in their group in 1988. If they confirm that YAT = Tri-Dos, then the matter is closed in my mind. I've always suspected The Yattering was the man behind the curtain doing the hard stuff for Tri-Dos. This wouldn't be unheard of. Ian of Fusion had one of his mates do most of the cracking while the world assumed Ian was the man, for example.

I always heard Skreemer was the real leader of INC, Shark was just a poser.
