Came back to this demo today, watched it again and noticed how this was one of the productions that stood out with the cozy and relaxed athmosphere among the team-members while creating this demo. In other words, i am satisfied when i look back in life :-)

Magnar's right concerning the theme, but the flow of Incoherent Nightmare is outstanding still.

Strepto: agreed. This demo 100% should be in the top 10.. the charts are very strange nowadays - which means of course that people are strange.

This is one of my favourite demos of all time and, yeah, absolutely should’ve won X2016.

I recognize now I never commented on this demo. The code is awesome. This is a demo you go back to viewing because of the code. Graphic is overall good, but there are some places I find things not really fitting so well together. Also the same goes for the music. It is a lot of Pirate references in this demo, but the songs are not giving you the pirate mood at all. It truely is incoherent, because on its own the music is really good when I play the demo without watching the demo - just listening to the songs. But together with the excellent code and visuals, it doesn't work for me. Also the colors and designs are sometimes a bit messy, but in overall - this demo is massive and maybe as close to Edge of Disgrace anyone can get on the code. I find myself coming back and watch this demo from time to time, so it has something special about it. But everytime, I feel it is a bit of a incoherent nightmare where gems shines better on their own rather than combined in many places. Maybe that also was the reason why this demo didnt make it to the top spots during the X compo. It's a pity, because everything in this demo is really outstanding good - on its own.

I second Sparta. Of all the X2016 demos (save for Lunacity which is another fav of mine) perhaps this aged best. Not without its flaws but definitely one of my all time favourites. Kudos to all involved. I wondered back then how on Earth this only came 5th but looking back now it seems even less justified. Oh well.

I keep coming back to this demo from time to time. It’s one of my all time favorites. So many cool effects. Code and tunes are both phenomenal.

Really, really good demo! I usually dislike 3D parts because they are yet-another-the-same-trick... but not here!
Nice, fresh ideas. Thumbs very up!

I'm always a sucker for the 3D stuff and tech effects and this demo is satisfying in that regard. Great music, art and transitions too. A Keeper.

DEFINETELY well-deserved top #5 material, no one with some idea of demos could/would have complained if this one had won.

Really, really neat gfx, great soundtrack, very decent FX, never boring.

Proud to be dead! (though I had nothing to do with this release) Looking forward to return to ASC "active" mode again some day!

My compo winner and one of the best demos ever. I'm watching it all over again.
Linus made a great job by putting his talent into it (music is most important in demos and makes you wanna watch it again). Great mood connected with stunning effects. Good that it's not so melodic, it's like tornado :) ...
Every effect is 100% real-time, so it gives great feeling. I like them all: glenz planes, light-sourced cube, cubic multiplexed bobs (wow), unlimited bobs at the end (first time seen such version - nice idea with filling with bobs faster then in traditional way), bat color-cycling part rules as hell, awesome complex vectors (wow again), fpp tunnel (best ever). Transitions are perfect! Regarding gfx, I love the logos (specially intro logo on the side-borders with multiplexed sprites) and skulls everywhere \o/.
I like the fact you can run 2nd side of the demo by simply booting from second side. I know it was used previously, nevertheless it's nice feature.
In one word: AWESOME!
Yours Arsenic fan.

A sound demo with lots of great parts. Finally, after 6 years, someone improved my 50 Hz cube. I need to dig in your code and see what magic you've there. Also liked the glenz vector part too. Congrats guys!

After having viewed all demos from the party again, this is my personal winner. The humor is great and the infinite bobs(?) is fantastic. So much awesome code here. The graphics are mostly fantastic, but there are a few piece that still needed some work - if you ask me. The design was great but from time to time it seemed that the design was 'forgotten'.
Favorite part: The infinite bobs - loooooved it!
In my opinion, this was the compo winner.

The colored tunnel with the bat is so satisifying. The bobs at the end were so fast and smooth, I had to check if the warp mode on Vice was engaged.. The music during that part was so good and funky I had to light a match.

Highly entertaining. My personal highlights are this insane mc-picture-fade, the transparent vector gfx, the greetings scroller, the hires vector gfx, the bobs at the end, the whole soundtrack, the pictures, etc. Coherency has its place but with so many wow-moments I do not care at all...

Nice job on the "many box" bobs routine, had to check it how it's done, and love it. The rotating/zooming raster is also nice, people might say it's not as colorful as Uncensored's part, but the rotation itself is much smoother & the rasters can get thinner in this one. Nice to see your faces in a realtime morpher, and that someone brought Glance's filled vector a notch futher, and I could go on. Also the music was ace and well timed to the fx. My #1 from X, I think.

so much to love in this one, pirate theme, *great* gfx, one of the best soundtracks, the flow, the details like the canon fire on the small pirate boat, love that.

and yea, the zooming super fluent rasters with donkey kong, the bat tunnel and locking up eddie hah!

as bob said, we can go on and on ;)

Wow, There are several gems in this demo, I don't know where to begin with... Twister, 50fps Cube, multi bricks, Unlimited Bobs, dithered X rotation bars, Z-rotating Bars with Donkey Kong.. I just could go on and on... part after part... ;) Probably the most technical demo on the X. So awesome. I must say I thought you guys definitely would end up in the top!
What an X-Compo!... and ofcourse it was a blast to meet with you all.. as always mates...
