Wow! a worthy winner of the compo. I really like all those hires-gfx, and the soundtrack is ace.

great demo! i don't really "get" the story (but you don't need to "get" things to enjoy them!), and the pacing maybe is a little too slow for my taste, but i really like the overall mood.

my faves:

- perspective scroller that extends into the upper border: my favorite effect from Out of Contex - looks just as good this time around (actually even better now)! (maybe this is the prequel to that scene in Out of Contex? in this demo, we're seeing the younger version of the driver, and in Out of Contex we're seeing the same guy, now considerably older, looking back at the events of this demo...?)
- the nightfall megalogo that extends into all the borders (also nice little animations in there)
- when the petscii balloon dude appears the first time, one of the colors move in front of the picture - nice touch!
- the Thunderblade-like cityscape effects
- the dude-looking-at-the-artline-logo-with-the-balloon-dude-as-a-shadow picture is great!
- the artline logo with wondercolors
- running dude - wow! great animation, great color movements, side border action. best part: the perspective shadow in the lower border that moves with the scroll
- dissolving text zoomer - what a great idea! looks absolutely stunning
- flex' soundtrack! love it (which isn't exactly a shocker - i usually do!)

Solid demo. Very stylish, a little bit too little coderporn for my taste, but it has it's moments.

I love the zoomer at the end the most, and all the beautiful hires graphics.

A very, very classy demo, this. Is this Peak Flex? Brilliant work with the soundtrack!

This demo made my day, so beautiful and silk. Everything just fits. The graphics is adorable, the sounds is blissful and the code is surprising – awesome usage of hires FLI/borders and rasters. Halftone light sourcing looks amazing too – moat please!

You took the main object narrative (as in Me & Batman) to the next level you guys =) Thank you!

We're happy to hear you enjoyed our work! It was put together in quite a short time. We locked in the basic concept @ ALD summer meeting in July, and maybe in August something was actually happening.

It was a great compo and it was an honor to compete with some of the cream of the scene. So many good demos..

Congratulations on winning first place!
Great demo. The atmosphere was fantastic, with some really good scenes, like the boy running in front of those neon lines.
The music reminds me a bit of Neon by Fairlight—not surprising, since it's the same musician! :) Really good work.
The story gets a bit hard to follow, though. I might need to watch it a few more times to fully understand it...

I love the play with light in the city and the room at the beginning.

Some nice side border stuff here..
boy running... some pillars went all the way out, I didn't noticed that on the stream... and the cubic zoom also goes to the sideborder... GOOD SHIT! nice demo very artsy fartsy I thought in the beginning and then I started to notice there actually was some nice code there too but it was not obvious from the stream ... so I am very satisfied!! Awesome demo..

Thank you very much for the kind comments! We are honored for the 1st place in a compo with so many top groups and tight competition.

@lemming: I can confirm that there is a spot in the middle of the demo (before the isometric part) in which the loader often crashes on real floppy drives. Not every time though, I just tried it with my 1541-II and the demo ran past that spot ok on the first try. But let's move any technical loader discussion to the forum.
