There's only one small addition if you apply MERRYGOROUND. In one of the screens there's a sun, and the rays around the sun will blink clockwise.

can't see anything hidden when I enter MERRYGOROUND at $0400 before running... what did I do wrong?

Type: 'MERRYGOROUND' on $0400 (topleft chars of the screen) after loading the demo. (and before running, you silly).
