An insane hate against multispeed tunes beholds me, dunno why. Many times I thought I had to compose a multispeed tune, and many times I turned back to 1x.
Dunno why, I like multispeed tunes very much, but when I load the editor, it seems so...unsporting! XD

It seems you misundertstood me Jeff. I meant to say, it sounds like 2x, but it's not. How to do this ? pulse ?

Rambones, it looks like this:
Channel 1 is playing the lead voice, but without vibrato. Channel 2 is a copy of channel 1, but has an additional vibrato. This makes it sound like 2x.
Simple, but effective ;-)

Michael Winterberg's instruments have their own speed.. and, yes, you only have to call the play routine a single time..

@Rambones: afair, it's just some detuning of some sort.

To me, it sounds rather like channel 1 and 2 are a bit detuned, just like Jeff said (chan 1 has a bit lower pitch than chan 2).

detuning is allways a nice thing, since it makes the sounds cooler. :)

there are many tricks to make 1x sound like multi. for example some tricks with synchro in drums and you have this little tail in snare typical for 2x multi :) (which sounds in particular like tel's rubicon and similar ones) and so on and so forth :)

Yes thats true. :)
It's even possible to make multispeed sounds that sounds like 1x speed.

Hmm, I have also noticed this phenomenon. Somehow to me 1x feels more 'innocent', somehow more simple I guess. Also I feel I can just start composing and focuse more on the music .. if I make multispeed, I am starting to have some kind of greed or lust for sounds 'having' to sound multispeed, which distracts me from composing itself and makes the result utter garbage. So I guess I will stay in 1x for now until I figure it all out and am somehow able to freely compose multispeeds without letting it get in my way.

IMHO everything faster than 1x speed sucks.
Some composers really like to detune their multispeedsongs in a quite odd way. :-I

At least I'VE been amazed by some multispeed tunes out there:
/VARIOUS/A-F/Blues_Muz/Gallefoss_Glenn/GRG_in_Cyberspace.sid
/Tel_Jeroen/Rubicon.sid
/VARIOUS/A-F/Comer/For_Fatum_Party_1.sid
/VARIOUS/M-R/Praiser/Theptak_The_End.sid
/VARIOUS/S-Z/Shogoon/Asphyxia.sid

Jammer's latest tunes are also really cool!

But then again, I'm probably easy to amaze...

Sure, f.ex Jammers 'Big_Beat.sid' is quite amazing but there are a lot of tunes that sounds crippled (The instruments from "Rubicon" sounds (mainly the snare instrument) quite trashy, but the music is OK). :-I

1x speed sounds more humane. :)

Damn, you're really critical... Considering when Rubicon was made - the sounds are quite amazing. The music itself is totally awesome... I guess taste differs...

Well, the tune is OK.

But some of the todays sceners make quite trashy sounding multispeed songs. (It's mainly because of overdrawn instruments)

Probably the worst example how to mess up a 12x speed tune.

Hmm. This was my first 12x tune. Instruments are OK, but the song.... :-I

And btw: Probably the worst example how to mess up a Soundmonitor tune. (even the instruments are stolen)
