Connecting lcd monitor?
is there a way to connect the Commodore 64 from the "video out" to the monitor?
If so, what adapter do you use? |

You can buy a video box that has composite video in, and different output, f.ex VGA out.
It cost around 100 kr. |

Certain LCD monitors have s-video in. For example the DELL 2408WFP. And many others. Also TVs often have s-video input, in addition to composite. |

Jan, can you paste the link to the adress, there i can buy the "videobox"?
Is it true, that the din-port from the 64 separate the Krominans and the Luminans and the colour? (s-video)

Here is a link that tells you how to make your own s-video cable:

What mrHarries is, probably, referring to is a box that also blurts out composite and VGA signals. I think I saw him using it at x-2008...

I have a DIN that splits audio+video, and combines chroma+luma. The video (composite signal), then goes into a 7" DVD player i have. Good small solution for when on parties.

There are also great monitor-out to s-video cables on ebay, and they're not expensive. The quality of the output is just awesome. That's the only setup I use for our not-so-regular in-house 120", surround sound c64 demo shows :) |
