C64 Coders needed for RPG
Greetings Programmers!
We have been working on a game similar to Wasteland, Bard's Tale III, and Dragon Wars for a year now. We have been developing the story, scenarios, location maps etc and were about to begin programming when our lead programmer became ill and incapacitated.
We need a couple of people who can program assembly code for:
1) engine
2) creation tools: map, item, monster editors
3) Graphic artists
Feel free to email us here: 8bwinfo at gmail dot com
Thank you in advance!
-Seth

We were thinking a royalty per unit sold. It will be ported to Pc and others. |

You should take a look at CharPad and SpridePad. You can do all your level designing and sprite designing there. It's quite cool.
Nice to hear you already have an engine and I wish you luck. Anything else, feel free to post again with some more details on what exactly you need (if anything). |

royalty per unit? depends what percentage you are offering. I wouldn't accept anything less than 50% per unit ;) |

I guess most of us know that even "commercially" distributed C64 games are more or less pro bono nowadays. Ask the coders of the really great releases of the last years like MrSID (Prince of Persia) or Endurion (Soulless) (<-- to name just two which came to my mind) if they made a fortune... |

My guess would be a C64 game bundled and incorporated with an emulator to be released for Android and IOS. To get the idea, check out the Bard's Tale trilogy which is included in the Android installation of "the new" Bard's Tale. |

TheRyk: MrSid surely made no fortune since he didnt sell a single copy of his game :) |

Sounds like an intriguing project, I loved those games, and still do.
Programming game creation tools in assembly these days sounds a wee bit masochistic to me. Any particular reason you don't want such tools to run on a modern computer instead?

The c64 version of the project is for my own personal gratification for the most part. It's been a dream of mine since I was about 12 to make my own bt style adventure for the c64. No one has really done it since Interplay in my opinion.
I'm also using the c64 version to craft the game and construct a game document for development on a pc.

Would anyone be able to take the bt3 and/or dragon wars source code and create an editor for the pc? |
