UFLI?

Hi everyone,

I tried to google around in order to learn how ufli works but could not find anything. I know how fli, afli, shfli, shifli and finally xfli works.

can someone please explain how ufli works and what are its limitations. i tried to look at the displayer code of that veronica picture. i see sprites involved. but i do not understand the code...

Actually the VIC does not need even 1 cycle. The fact is that the 6510 is only stoppable when it does a read cycle. Because the longest write cycle length is 3 (interrupt) the VIC needs the 3 cycles long period to play safe...
BTW my routine will be better :)
PS: Note also that on an NTSC chip this routine would be trivial to create because of the +1 cycle before the sprites...

@NoiseEHC: just in order to exactly know what to think about: the routine you'll sooner or later come up with will be able to do 200 lines FLI with 6 sprites in every line, and this interlaced - or did I get that wrong? Hmm, maybe 200 lines FLI+6sprites can be done, have some kind of idea, but INTERLACE??? I have to think more about this FLI-sudoku ;)

200 lines FLI + 6 sprites on all lines can NOT be done. How the hell did you plan to multiplex the sprites beyond 168 lines???

Just wanna hint some things too, all EMUs and seemignly different real VIC-II versions all fetch the sprites differently. So if you manage to get unique sprite lines that work in VICE, don't expect it to work on the real thing or vice versa... For instance in VICE every 4th line in ninja's code fetches the sprites from the pointers pointed by the screen that was used the line before, not the current screen etc.

I wanna see 200 lines FLI + 6 sprites before I believe it too. Right now I would rate it "impossible." Hope that magic word can motivate you to do it, NoiseEHC. :)
