Release id #245988 : Olympic Skijumper
I'm wondering if the music for the updated 1986 version of Olympic Skier (i.e. the basis of this game) is already in HVSC? I could only find this tune, which is from the original 1984 version. https://deepsid.chordian.net/?file=/MUSICIANS/S/Southern_Shaun/.. |

probably not, have you ripped it?
I'm having a brief look at the data in your olympicskyjumper at $1162 has the same exact data as Olympic_Skier.sid at $9600.
I don't know how much different it sounds, as I have no sound atm, it probably has some difference in code so it doesn't play the same, I guess.
For example in the original
9955 A9 11 LDA #$11
9957 EA NOP
9958 8D 04 D4 STA $D404
in your prg
14B7 A9 21 LDA #$21
14B9 EA NOP
14BA 8D 04 D4 STA $D404
this is enough to alter the output, imho.
I'll check better once at home. |

I haven't ripped it, don't really know how to construct a kosher rip tbh. But I've just added the modified source to the release, if that helps. The music is in its own file (no changes other than moving it to a different mem location) and the only jingle needed for skijump is at the end of the main source.
Here's also some of the early disassembly stuff, including the first disassembled source I got working on its own. That should have all the rest of the jingles too.

As far as I can hear, the main changes are that the 1986 version uses $21 instead of $11, and the jingles have at least some filter "wobble" added to them. |

That's actually it and it doesn't qualify as a different tune for me, just few altered waveform setting. |
