Release id #81925 : My Island #4
Actually, it's not about "My Island #4" but most of Leon's picture releases. I want to learn what do you think about a graphic release for multiple groups like Chorus, Resource and Singular. I've been in 3 different groups at the same time in the past. If I've done something, I always did it for a single group not more than one group unless it's a coop demo. Coop demos are another story because all groups are participating and making different parts of a single production. But a graphic? It's just a single piece of work and Leon is doing it alone. For which group? All of his groups at the same time? This doesn't make much sense to me. Many sceners are in multiple groups but they release their codes, graphics or musics for one of their groups.
I'm not trying to start a big discussion. I just want to know what do you think about it? Is it just me who find this weird?
And Leon, this question is completely irrelevant with your skills.
P.S: I didn't search the forum. If it's already discussed, a topic link would be enough :) |

No why, I was serious :D
ontopic: I see no problem with the multiple group release info. It is rather an automatic CSDB database-thing than an intentional release-info case I assume. |

Ok so kidding aside. Seems to me that the whole thing is based on good intentions. Like, "oh, I wouldn't like to offend my other groups by leaving them out from the credits so I'll just put them all there".
According to my experience, if I released a single picture under one certain group label while I was in multiple groups, it happened a few times that later the other groups also claimed the credit for the work or people just credited the release to all my groups (I'm talking about disk magazines, way before CSDb). So I took it as an "unwritten scene rule" and never occurred to me as a problem. The lack of responses on this topic is probably mirroring a similar approach from the rest of the scene.
Quoting NecroPoloIt is rather an automatic CSDB database-thing than an intentional release-info case I assume. No it's not automatic, you set the "Released by groups and sceners" by yourself. |

You could also remove the groups totally & just set yourself as releaser. |
