you could save the mem from the vice mon to save your work. btw what vice version is this? after a cpu jam its possible to continue ?! a feature I'm begging for since 10 years! :D

the OSX version (not the half-assed X11 based one) is not the same as the linux version of Vice, which also has it's (dis)advantages over the windows version.

I would have said "get a mac" but I can see you already got one so I will just say: "get power64" instead. It is the best and most stable emulator ever made and it only runs on mac (sorry for being constructive instead of bitching).
