Event id #3071 : Transmission64 2021 Fall Edition
Two parties in a year, who would have thunk.
The competitions will be similar to those at the previous Transmission64; we might make some slight adjustments to the rules and will announce those shortly. We're also considering adding one or two competitions.
Consider this our "call for papers" - if you're interested in holding a presentation or have an act, please send an outline of it to hello (at) transmission64.com. |

I also wanted to thank Krill for helping out with designing the basic fader compo and having the idea together with me in chat a while back.
Btw, if you're looking for some inspiration, check out this thread:

Somebody (sorry, forgot who exactly) suggested to try breaking the winner entry in some kind of post-prizegiving after show, setting non-standard screen modes/VIC register settings etc. before run. =D |

Krill: yeah break the winner! \o/
Seriously, might be terminology but to be crystal clear, the fader is supposed to be coded in BASIC V2.0 or why is it called "BASIC"? |

Can be coded in any language you like, of course, as long as you can run it from the BASIC prompt.
No idea who came up with the terminology and how, or why it's called that, but among the things that are swept away in a creative way when running a demo, you often find "COMMODORE 64 BASIC V2". =) |

That was Strobe on #c-64 on IRCnet a few days ago :)

7:40 PM <Strobe> that compo should be followed by a "break the winners fader" comp :)

I used to call it screen fader or something like that, but I think the name originates from the fact that it transitions from a BASIC screen (i.e. start screen) and fades that screen to get to the demo. Nothing really to do with BASIC, but if you wanted, I guess you could code it in BASIC 2.0, too. |

Just to be clear, please do not upload and post your entries on CSDb ahead of the party, as this will disqualify your entries. We will have a system available for you to upload the entries about 1 week before the party. |

Phew, I was wondering whether there’d be another decent scene party before Fjalldata (Feb 2022) - great to see you guys filling the void! |
