Handle id #7123 : The Punisher
Punisher/Genesis is very probably a different person as I got an address which says Charleville/France, not Ireland. Or he did move houses!?!??! |

I already had this thought too. Having read something like that in an old disk mag bustles in my old brain cells...
The address is from the mag Emanuelle #01. His first name is Herve and like mentioned lives in France. |

also someone please remove the '!!!' - I did not find a single release he used the exclamation marks. Seems some people think this is facebook scene and no database. |

Reading the bio on radio6581.com, the UK Punisher's name is Gary, and Quote: I use to rip music from C64 games to make music demos with the GENESIS SOFTWARE guys, Dave Clarke, Jonathan Smith (now known as Jonathan Temples) and Ashley Hogg who ofcourse did many great games like CJ Elephant Antics (Code Masters) and Nobby The Aardvark (Thalamus).
Genesis Software, not Genesis Project. So I think it's safe to asume that the G*P Punshier is a different person. |

I removed them, but from what I saw (picked up some random cracks) he actually wrote "The Punisher!!!" in scrolltexts and screens. I don't think it should be part of the name anyway.

I checked several cracks as well, I was absolutely wrong, he's using 'The Punisher!!!' all over his cracks.
So the exclamation marks should be put back or at least that version into the handle alternative spelling prompt.
Still this problem remains:

Could it be that there were two people in G*P that used the same handle?
and btw, Chirs/Time in that screenshot from Emanuelle is Chris/Raiders of the Lost Empire. No idea which "Time" he was a member of, maybe Time? |

Again, he doesn't use constantly !!! in his name, and some cracks have the !!! in the scroller but not on the trainer, some the other way and some no !!! at all. In any case I don't think it's part of the handle, just his exagerated way to use exclamation marks. |

@Coog: Still, again, it's noticeable how often he uses exactly three exclamation marks. Someone who uses "just his exagerated way" would inevitably use different counts.

I woud also opt to add the !!! as alternative spelling, as it is a good way do actually tell apart this one from other "Punishers".
@ The MeatBall: interesting riddle about Chris indeed, impossible to tell with the little info on him. Maybe someone around who was in contact with him, and could tell at least roughly when he was active? |

About Chris, I just checked the address and found that it's registered to someone with the same last name as Chris, and then added 2+2 :)

Nice detective work. :-) Now see if you can contact him and get his disks. :-P
As Emanuelle #1 is from 1991, actually Time seems most likely (the German Time was dissolved in 1990, and the only releases of the American Time date from 1995) - anyone knows if the South African TIME might have had a European member? Or is it just outdated information, as the address was sent in before dissloution of the German TIME? Hmmm... |

Hi all, yes there were 2 Punisher's in G*P. I started in 1990 as Punisher!!! and after I left to make my own group 'Genetix', another scener joined G*P with same name handle but without the !!! I'm not sure why though?
MeatBall I am the same person that owns radio6581.com and my location is Belfast - Northern Ireland - UK just for the record...
Also the software company 'Genesis Software' has nothing to do with 'Genesis Project'. Even though I was a cracker in Genesis Project, I also coded with Dave Clarke, Jonathan Smith and Ashley Hogg as they lived across the street from me. They decided to use the name Genesis Software for their games company, I think they did that because I was in G*P :p
Trust me, Genesis Software and Genesis Project were not connected in anyway. I know I coded the disk protection for 'Nobby the Aardvark' but it was never used as Thalamus thought the market was dying. Shame really, but I was still credited for it, if you look at the main title screen in 'Nobby the Aardvark' in the 'Titles' section you'll see 'Thanks to Genetix' ;)
I do know that G*P were well pissed at them using that name because while Dave was at one of the London Computer Shows some G*P members approached him and said that he stole their name...
