Release id #98134 : Rippy #2
Got a CPU Jam in Vice at about 60 seconds after the music begins to play. It's supposed to be the non bugged version. Anyone got the same error? And on a real 64? |

As I'm the coder of this very advanced piece of code I had to test also. It seems like something goes wrong in the music player... What I can remember this is working on a real C64 (or C128 to be more exact) I have only tested this in VICE (version 2.2 and 2.3)
But anyway, GRENNOUILLE, you're probably the only one waiting 60 seconds in this demo! |

no, it couldn't possibly "work" on real c64, even zeroing the memory at $c000 it would at least stop playing music or playing it wrong. It works until the scroller wraps one time, ok, but if one wanted to hear the music for longer it would have been noticed even back then =) |

no, don't. It's history revisionism. |

Ian Coog is right. The original demo was created with a bug. As imperfect as the bug is, that is how the demo was originally created. To change the demo changes historical accuracy. |

Ok, you're right...
The demo is so lousy so nobody will watch it for 60 seconds anyway! :-) |
