sid sound hunt
HVSC is huge, thus crowdsourcing this. Looking for sid tunes which have guitar-like sounds. It is a very subjective thing, but I am looking for the best quitar-ish thing done with sid. |

GBK-Test by ATOO? I guess it's a bit more of a bass but has some nice distortion in the generated sound.
oh and L.E.D Storm as well, on a 6581 |

Good finds, keep them coming. I sort of ask myself "is this a guitar players arr/sound?"
There seem to be either samples or sounds done with some filtering and 6581 "amp".
That Markus Mueller Mechanicus has nice Van Halen-ish rock riff, too bad its short.
Heins Lick My Guitar has awesome bassline. Looping now for the nth time.
L.E.D Storm is classic of course. |

Swallow have made som nice guitar samples but the Delta ingame tune have the most awesome sounding guitar sounds ever if you listen to it long enough (think its about where level 6 begins so it's a few minutes in)... |

Swallow didn't cover any Delta tune, at least not that I know of. Can you please be specific and point to the correct tune? |

Galway used guitarlike solos in many tunes, indeed. Jammers Banjo is very good.
@Fred: I believe Trash means the Delta in-game tune by Hubbard, which has Pink Floyd and Philip Glass influences. |

No he never did (to bad actually) but as Mixer said, I ment his tunes in general and pointed at the Delta ingame tune by Rob Hubbard as a specific suggestion... |

From 17 seconds... but I consider this a great synth sound instead of guitar like sound. |

Rimrunner, although you might choose to view this as a Jan Hammer style lead instead. Good either way. |

- so many things from Kjell Nordbo... maybe check Rockhard:
\MUSICIANS\B\Blues_Muz\Nordboe_Kjell\Rockhard.sid
- considering solo sound, many things from Hubbard and Ben Daglish, but the best would be something where both of them were involved: Auf Wiedersehen Monty has quite cool bridge and neck pickup-like sounds, you can tell which part is whick pickup that is quite amazing in my opinion
- Matt Gray's numerous SIDs, Dominator or Last Ninja 2
- of course, Galway's Times of Lore, you can even tell of where the strings are picked, that is flat-out amazing
- Citadel by Martin Walker (it is not much of the sound maybe but these are guitar riffs, kicking major ass)
- City Game intro by Alan Peters, it's raw but emulates open and mute riffs quite well
- Gauntlet sub2 by Tim Follin, it has quite a nice clean guitar-like sound, out-of phase bridge pickup
- also the solo in Tim Follin's Bionic Commando sub5, for me it sounds like a quite creditable fusion jazz guitarist with a delay pedal...
- many things from Taxim, he is a metal mastermind, check Keine Music, it kicks major ass
- Agemixer's (hello mate, thanks for creating those awesome SIDs!) Da Shit Eastwood Jack's Red D... OK that's a violin but it's a string instrument and big fat jawdropping 10/10 sound desing on SID :)
- Jammer is one of the best sound designers on SID ever, he has many guitar-like sounds and FX shots, check Broken Circuits
- basically many things from me as all of the SIDs were created with a guitar in the hand, check Borxx, Destronaut, Words apart |

Some nice bass guitar at 1:20 here: A Sa-Demo. You need to play it on a 6581 for the correct filter. |

The WAH guitar in MUSICIANS\D\Deek\Googachild.sid
As always it depends on the 6581 version, bright ones won't sound good and you would not notice the awesomeness of this tune.
Here it is on a 6581R3 |
