Cleaning up in inactive accounts

A thing that has been on the todo-list for a looong time.

Automatically closing accounts that havn't been used for some time. (Currently set to 6 months)
Users will of cause recieve a warning mail before their account is closed, so please make sure that your E-mail in your account is a working one.

There are several reasons for cleaning up in these inactive accounts:
Open up locking entries maintained by users who isn't here, so that they can be updated by others.
Reducing the chance to PM users who dosn't come back to read them.
Cleaning up in potential double registrations.
Giving a more clear picture of how many users actually are on CSDb.
...

This new thing won't matter for most of you regular users, but you should make sure that your E-mail in your account is a working E-mail - just in case. :)

Just checked. According to the logs, he last logged in aprox 5.5 months ago, so either he remembers wrong, got another account, or somehow managed to log into CSDb without it getting logged. (bug??) ;)

Nice work. A pity email addresses for some people change frequently otherwise purging is possibly avoided in some cases.

Yes, someone will never get the warning mail, but that just how it is.
Out of 3000 warning mails sent this evening, I got a little less than 100 bounces so far.
On the other hand almost 300 users have got the mail, and loged in tonight - and it's only 4 hours since the mails was sent out. :)

We will se in 30 days - that is the first time the automatic script will close accounts.

Right now the stat-box says about 4200 accounts.
Yesterday only 1000 of those were "active".
Now 1450 accounts are "active", and the number is still rising.. :)

Not so happy about this. Could I get some kind of an immunity? I promise I wont disappear for good. But, I was just away from CSDb (and wasn't checking my personal email account too frequently either) for long, and I might fall into the same situation again, any time, even for a much longer period than 6 months. So at least allow us to reactivate the account once it's deleted (I'd never thought I'll bring up Facebook as a good example, but you get the idea, right?)

accounts are infact never deleted, but set to "inactive" status... you can always reapply and a moderator can resend the activation mail to you. (right perff? =))

I noticed that "Decompracid" added a "planning to come" on the LCP 2009 page on CSDb. When I tried to send her a message, I was told by the site that "this account is currently inactive" (or similar). Since the LCP 2009 page has not been on CSDb for 5 months, there must be something wrong here.

(Also the user "Decompracid" should be linked to the scener "DCMP" of course, but I guess she is supposed to do that herself.)

The reason is that she's had two accounts here & the one she used to create Decompracid has expired. To PM her send to the user who created The Girl with the Sunshine in her Head instead.
