Looking for qualified trustworthy sceners to update database?

Some time ago Enthusi and I talked about creating a web based database for c64 gfx. Intentionally just for blabla but during the last two weeks the idea took shape and became an existing website.

c64pixels.com

What we really need is content. And therefore we need your help.
To maintain the aspired high quality of the database we follow a strict data format and everyone helping us is required to provide the images and data according to a specific scheme (details via PM). Sounds more severely as it is. We just want to take this job seriously to build up a huge graphics collection – showing as much graphical variety of the c64 world as possible from the mid 80ies till now.

So please join us :)

Great initiative. As for CSDb: It's not reasonable to have every single picture, logo etc in every demo added as a separate release. Better then to have a dedicated site focusing on that, just like HVSC. Given time, C64Pixels may of course work its way into CSDb, just like there is HVSC functionality now, but adding such functionality to CSDb without first letting it sort itself out would be a mistake IMO.

No gallery for csdb!
Rather invest some work into fields which really require updating - it's perfectly ok to have specialised sites for different fields.

Instead people should start using proper names for their csdb uploads and spread them to the ftps as well - ssme.d64 is just not as useful as "StarSpriteMovementEditorV2.6.d64" would be. Apart from that there are at least a dozen other corners to circle - galleries not included.

Keep it up at c64pixels! If I'd be much into gfx I'd be curious to support. :)

Wow, nice effort guys! I gave up trying to watch PAL demos years ago and don't do much even now with emulation. Seeing all these nicely styled, and mostly PAL, screens in a very inspiring thing.

Thanks!

just a random idea: it would be nice to host the original binaries because IIRC soci made a tool which makes it possible to display them on the web (view64?), with such a tool it would be possible to view pics with/without PAL emulation, zoom, etc. I see you have used a template site intended for photos, so this may be way off of what you can do with that / your plans / means more work etc. just ignore me if so. :)

it allows saving bmps, rest is not much work, make an exe which creates pal filter version, install imagemagick, make a script to generate pal filtered / nonfiltered / different sizes/ thumbnail. profit.(ofcourse its all just an idea)

btw, bug report: the site shows shifli pics when filtering for shi.

uh, you realize the difference between all that and "a tool that makes it possible to display something on the web" ? :)

*rude reply removed by myself*

Groppie, you're just trolling on me here with this. The problem is solvable, and IIRC there was such a tool maybe not view64, or maybe I remember wrong. Doesnt matter.
