Release id #129317 : VICE 2.4

What's wrong with sound playback? It has serious problems e.g. with filtered, silent sounds. AFAIK real machine doesn't behave like that ;]

I thought it only influences the eyesight? :-(

Could it be partially related to soundcard settings perhaps? It can make a difference using the various resampling options

of course, needless to say that most people are unable to configure things the same way in both emulators before comparing, too =)

Let's call that kicking in open doors. But true, one can never know if and what configurations have effect anyway in *UNSTABLE* releases. :)

Ah, I was getting cynical without reason then, what a waste of energy. Tbh, I'll stick to 2.3 till peer pressure makes me upgrade to a better life.

Actually I do. 2.4 (the official first release) has a display bug on my W7 which is annoying enough not to use it. I don't compile the sources from the repo, too much hassle for me, so the other option would be 2.4.9 I guess.

It's not that I code that many things that get used or watched on a real c64 anyway. I rely on people's laziness.

I've updated to 2.4.7 win32 this year - just didn't notice the update earlier, heh ;) It happens.

Funny thing is that I don't have residFP option anymore with its wider choice of models. I can only choose FastSID 6581/8580 and ReSid 6581/8580/8580digiboosted. That's all. Is it the way it's supposed to be? ;)

Besides, I've listened to majority of my tunes on real hardware and there are no quirks like this.

Gpz, if it's needed I'll try to follow a proper bugtrack. Cheers!

ok so, the whole thread is bogus, because 2.4 isnt 2.4.7 =) yes as said above, resid-fp was removed some time after 2.4.

Hein: get the latest snapshot from http://vice.pokefinder.org - you really want to use that for coding, trust me :)

and yes, if you want anything to change, a proper bug report must be created. there is no other way anything might get fixed eventually.

Gpz, I've just made an ass of myself :D Dunno where did I get this 2.4.7 win32 build from and why not official stable x64 release. Now additional sidFP models are available and everything sounds normal.

Sorry for the hassle and guys - better check out if you also happen to use this infamous 2.4.7 build ;)
