Release id #47128 : Fuck of M$

Are these four wired pictures even scene releases? As far as I can tell they are just plain image conversions done with one of the available tools out there.

It's always nice to see new sceners, but *some* effort and creativity is needed - you have to at least *try*.

This whole topic is about what is a release, and what is not.
I must admit that there are no specific rules for what a qualified release is, and I wouldn't know how such rules should be like..
Personally I would not call these 4 pics releases and put them out as such, as it just seems to be simple convertions with no post work done. Perhaps if it was made into a gfx-collection or something, but that's just my personal oppinion.
Gargoil thinks they qualify as releases, and so he uploaded them to CSDb as such. Now his story is here for all to see, and people can make their own judgement.
If stuff like this should be removed we first of all need clear rules on when something qualify to be added, and as stated such rules dosn't exist yet. (It would also call for a big cleanup of the database :) )

A thing that I however don't think is ok to put up is crappy fake groups etc. I know it's some kind of "if those lamers can put crap up, I can put even worse crap up and make fun of them", and that I think is just childish. That crap will be removed!

*sigh*

Why did you delete the LWC group and the release?
The person who added the group reckoned it was a valid group entry and the person who added the release reckoned it was a valid scene release; their story was here for all to see.

Not that I approve such additions to the database but what I am trying to say here is, by deleting this fake group & release you are executing rules which don't exist yet.
In other words, you are contradicting yourself.

Well, be honest now; they (Hema/Lamers with Conversion-tools) have a point right?
And the whole entry of that fake-group was (if I get their message clear) was all about making a point; too much 8bit doodoo is entered by so-called clueless newbies as releases.

And now you want to make some clear rules about what is a SCENE-release (mind the caps) and what is not.

HeMa FTW! \o/

Starting fake group everytime when some clueless newbie, or sociopath appears, isn't IMO the best thing how to make "the movement" healthier.

Clueless newbie is mocked up instead of being gently spanked until he gets the idea, (or doesn't, and gets "rejected" as lamer). People who make a lot of mess and don't show any respect are kept here as pets so we can laugh & talk about them, mock them up and get spammed by them (it took a long time until wanderer got banned, and it's taking too long time until the ex-scener Nata gets banned either).

The scene has degenerated to state where fake activites (I would preffer to call them "meta-activities") get as much respect as any other serious release. Some are even so enthusiastic about "this new fake group", that they are joining it. Yeah it's fun to be a part of meta-group and not bothering with any real duties. It's fun to start a new meta-group with snap of fingers by adding a new entry to CSDB and posting to c64.sk. You get what? Hundreds of curious people to look at your new meta-effort and some even applauding you. Respecta!

Doing a real scene-activity would be waste of our time. Right? ;-) Who said something about the "forum scene?". Yeah.. it seems that it really exists. It's here right around us, and I can't do anything about the fact that I've became an involuntary member.

aha, so primary crap is allowed, secondary crap is not :D

If you read between the lines Perff calls Gargoil a lamer.
Another victory for The Girl of the Meatdepartment, imo.

Besides that, CreamD makes a major point too.
I should keep those words in mind before I click on that submit-button.

The CSDb is a database, the forum is a forum.
Making entries for communication sake, is using the database as a forum. IMO, that's not good.

In fact, it leeds to the decrease of quality and value of the database.
