Handle id #987 : The Magic Roundabout
Our beloved TMR has died losing the fight against CoVid-19 and its follow-up illnesses after over one year.
RIP Jason. I have always enjoyed your productions! You owe my deepest respect!

Jason - who had type II diabetes and asthma - was transferred into intensive care on April 3 last year and he had remained on that ward ever since.
During that time, he had had to fight for his life on numerous occasions after the virus ravaged his lungs, destroyed his kidneys and he went on to develop such severe stomach issues that he was still having to be fed intravenously when he died.

So sad to hear the news.
He was a great guy, and a big part of Retro Gamer magazine with the homebrew section he had been writing since 2008.
Are there are any plans for a tribute demo?
Would be good to gather text/tributes from the scene together somewhere. |

RIP Jason.
When Mibri started his demo shows I read about TMR being in hospital with Covid-19 for 11 weeks! Time went by and I thought about him - how was he doing? But I couldn't really find any news about him. Now I am reading this...
So sad.
I have been using csdb for many years and I love the site!
I love reading about you guys, watching your productions - and I actually don't know ANY of you and haven't seen any of you "for real" - and yet I feel that I know you, somehow... ;-)
My condolences to TMRs family & friends. |

We didn't have much personal contact but I always enjoyed his passion and the style of his creations. I think he was an important member of our scene, so his fate makes me sad. My condolences to his family and friends! I played some of his games today, Vallation [16kb cartridge] got me hooked nicely. Thank you, Jason, it was a pleasure to have you with us! |

not much to say, others have said it before.. one of my first and oldest c64 friends. I feel glad I nagged him to write intros for me or get him to finish a demo a number of times.
the "93 megademo" was an example of how things were.. linked / crunched the demo in london.. called one of my dutch brothers (in another group) to upload it to the boards 10 minutes after it was done... and I got derby ram to spread it on disk also..
simpler times..
I do feel lucky to have known him. |
