/\/\ Silly War Origins /\/\

So wars do originate from small bickering. There is this huge topic about some conflict between sceners. This is supposed to be the enlightened age of the C= 64 scene.
The wars used to be vicious back in the day. They often led all the way to people's personal lives, with sometimes horrible results. They almost always started over some small reason. I am a veteran of the scene wars.
These guys have some animosity between them and they are warring within release scrolls. It has bled over to the CSDb. Not Necessary.
Every person who is present in our scene, contributes to the continuum which is the Commodore 64 scene. That means each and every one of us is an essential part of the whole scene. This BBS is the heart of our scene. We must respect our heart.
Since people do have stress in daily life and do get angry at each other, to keep hostility away from the CSDb, a new and separate BBS needs to be formed specifically for warriors and raggers. Our scene needs an arena.......

Actually a ragging website which everyone in the world who was angry or just in some mood logged on to cap insults on each other would be a popular site.

And rather than stick to the point that there is a war going on in the 64 scene, now, the best thing you were able to focus on is "/\/\". How petty!

Go go go.. I think the idea has some potential. Either that or simply make an special release division for it. "post your anonymous crap here", "go for the gold here"??
..

In the end there will always be complaints over the releases so I am not really sure it will settle the war situation. Might even make it worse.

I would be in favour but the simple fact remains that "war" releases are generally sub-par performances showcasing wired gfx and a shitty scroller.

Quality still matters, albeit "real" or "fake"

Agreed, the attack is a lot more personal when there is a good deal of effort.

Still, even a good peice of 1 minute garbage can be funny, the intro to Gossip was always fun.. where you had to shoot members of Geneshit Project. Even though i loved the GP cracks, i loved to make a meal of snacky :)

War demos today are more based on the stuff happening on forums and irc channels if you ask me. Dunno how it got to that state, though. Even some gfx entries from last year, they were kind of based on the going ons here and #c-64.

that doesnt mean that someone couldnt put a bit more effort into them and make them actual demos, instead of a simple piece of crap =P

One wait to negate the effect of these demos and comments are to completely ignore them.

People who produce this rubbish thrive on the attention. Don't give it them.

Unfortunately even this comment adds weight by its very existence.
