Release id #210249 : Pattern Finder +1D

Removed various postings from entry comments as it's once more general blahblah about what is a crack in these times.

@TheWarCriminal: You have been explained in great detail and overly politely why certain content does not belong into entry comments. However, you keep abusing comments instead of using forums and thus, generate work for moderators. Moderators' patience with you might come to an end soon. Consider yourself warned. EDIT: In case you've got a short memory, lookee here https://csdb.dk/forums/?csdbentrytype=release&csdbentry=208458&..

So here's the deleted stuff:

This just proves there are STILL some wankers, that cruise in here THINKING they know how shit work, when in fact they have no clue! RTFM before you speak bro... Nothing to see here... "ON TO THE NEXT CRACK"

Unsure about the weird little cabal comment; but the release for me is fine, gives people choice between a trainer or not.

The whole discussion about the definition of a crack has been regurgitated many times. e.g. https://csdb.dk/forums/?roomid=7&topicid=90014#90138

Your complaints might be better directed at whatever weird little cabal decided to change the scene rules in the 90s and 2000s so they could pretend to be crackers. Our tactic for pushing reform is to beat them at their own game. Your tactic seems to be to complain about releases - though I notice for some odd reason you managed not to take offense at the other "crack" released today.

really? so you just get the game from an user here and do a trainer, slap an intro and call it a crack? apparently the remainder of what little scene is left don't care about their own rules anymore. A crack requires removing protection. This is not a crack.

Quote: Someone properly define IMPORT -- and I'll crack any of your cracky cracking definitions.

And while that someone is at it: please also explain why some prefered HANSA EXPORT over HANSA PILS or the other way around. This always confused me.

Thanx & Cheers!

Just cause you link intros on a non commercial game (magazine, github, gb64, ect) does NOT make you a cracker.
Crack this. =D

? Was something like this already done, actually:

Quickly cobble together a very simple, but working game that is releaseworthy (cough) and then hammer the disk with some very nasty copy protections.

There you have it: a cracking compo. The fastest cracker (all protections removed, bugfix, ntscfix, trainer, docs, exclusive cracktro) is then the momentary #1337 craxx0r world champion and everyone else who ticks all the boxes get a "real cracker" status and are subsequently immune to any "thats not a real crack, you're not a real cracker"-talk.

Somebody could even be so mean and spoil the cracking compo for everybody else, by releasing a deprotect-walkthrough... but what if they didn't find that super long timebomb protection? The shame - oh the shame.

Funny thing is, the guy who won doesn't even go by "cracker", and is an excellent coder. He also beat the old Transwarp v0.64 crypto challenge in no time. =)

n0mistake did that once at a BCC party with CRX Race
He put at least half-a-dozen ways of copy-protection measures he could remember or find on a real disc and then challenged me to crack it. Of course I was the wrong guy to do it and passed the task over to our only real cracker CSixx who succeeded rather quickly in producing a working crack. However, in our working version some mere disk filler files remained on the disk and LXT's version one year later replaced Krill Loader by 6R6 loader, so their version's better in the aftermath, also NTSC fixed.

@Count Zero: for you What's an import?
@Spider: Hansa Export and Hansa Pilsner both tasted shitty but Export had more alcohol in it, so the tough kids but always went for Export, also more ecomonic if the target is to get drunk with a limited amount of money :D

[OT] Haha, ok. Technically, the unreal hw is more compatible with Glenn's loader (not the loader with the hw - burden of support clearly lies with the emulator, not the software).
On my side, there has been an SD2IEC compatibility option called "KERNAL fallback" for ages, though. :) (And native support *by* (not for) SD2IEC is in the pipeline.)
