Aycee, Arielle Corriveau, no -- it's Linda Spierings!

Okay, I remember back in the day that I received a picture from Aycee (Arielle Corriveau) that was actually on photo paper. It was shortly after she joined my group, TSM.

Using Google reverse image search, I found the same picture with different writings here:

http://www.atlantis-prophecy.org/recollection/?load=photos&sub=..

Well, not surprisingly, everyone who got one of those pictures was duped. The picture is of a model named Linda Spierings, from 1985, in Vogue Magazine:

Scroll down to the bottom to see the picture in question.

Anyway, just thought I'd post this here for posterity more than anything else. Still, it's got me wondering what she REALLY looked like.

IIRC, back in the day when I was on a conference that she also happened to be on (And this would have been right before the beginning of the MSI days) - she said her name was Arlene. Pro-Hack/DLoC was constantly trying to hook up with her, even was going to drive up there at one point (He only lived in Iowa)

But, given the nature of how people acted back then, who knows who anyone really was?

Someone (I can't remember, Scorpie mabye) posted this photo of her on the C64/Amiga scene group on facebook.

Eventually huge doubts now occure that this is her. :/

Yeah I highly doubt it. That might be Linda Spierings as well but it's hard to tell. The facial features definitely look the same.

Lol Hell Hacker,. I was another that received this photo, I am sure most of us knew this was bogus but at the time she was very convincing.

Wow, that's taken me back...

I got that as well...

Glad I wasn't the only one duped...

Probably looks like Hayley Cropper and has the same size balls and beard trimmer...

I wonder WHY you let her join the group after that seeing that picture..

Was it your brain doing the talking or another bit :)

Bod:

Hey man, everything has been good -- can't complain!

Mclane:

Actually, I let her in BEFORE I saw any pictures of her. She was a good distributor and BBS runner. I liked the fact that I could crack something and then just let her coordinate the release. If there were other benefits that helped the group, then hey, why not? :)

Back in the day, the rule was if you hadn't met them in person, they were lying about everything. I met at least 5 different people who claimed to be Mitch/ESI, dozens who claimed to be FBR/RAD/ESI/UCF/ABYSS/WHATEVER members, people who claimed to be runners for this or that group, even two different guys on different occasions who claimed to be me. I have folders full of pictures people sent me that later turned out to be fake. It would be an understatement to say that people were less than forthcoming about their identities back then. It's why Pro-hack would always make a practice of doing some subtle drive-bys before ever committing to meet girls he met on boards and chats for hookups, and anyone calling in claiming to be anyone besides a local lamer was thoroughly vetted before being given access.

Can't believe people used to be so stupid (horny?). Then again, this was before the coming of internet pr0n...

Why is that so stupid? Even if computering was a male dominated hobby in the 80s there were beautiful girls in my teenage time who had a and played with the C64.

80's, jesus my teenage years were the 70's, not so pretty girls then :)

But yes, back then the lads would claim to be some super hacker attached to a famous group, sadly many were found out right away. I'd never claim to be Bod / Darren, I'm simply not that ugly in real life ;)

Mind you I don't know how any of the Accumulators ever discovered the female sex, or any sex for that matter. I think Neil / Wiseman formed a civil partnership with his keyboard in the end..

The truth was that most of the sys ops etc that I met were almost the exact picture you get of a hacker in the media, I remember one year I went to one of the big exhibitions and System 3 were showing off a new game on the speccy, it had a set of extremely sexy dancing girls with costumes on that barely covered any part of them, there was me standing there admiring the talent yet you had the nerdy lot looking at these women like they were aliens, almost as if they were in the way of playing the game.

Good old days..

As for women in the scene, when?...Must have missed them... :)

My missus can't stand computers, never has done even tho she used to operate the big teletype ones in the bank. All through the years when started off on the old Atari 8 bit computers doing tech sales and then as I moved about the computer scene she never took the slightest interest with them despite them being basically my working and social life.

Not from lack of brains, just not her thing...

Can't say I remember anyone's GF being in to them, most just acted like computer widows....
