Silesia Party 3

Hello everyone :)

the Silesia Party 3 will be held on 18-20 September 2009 in Traffic club/skatepark, Czeladz, Poland. The party place is the same as for SP2.

what is to be expected?

--> http://silesiaparty.pl/uk_information.php

and english quick link to english website is http://en.silesiaparty.pl :)

Please register yourself on the website if you plan to party with us on the last Commodore-only party in Poland!

We hope to have bigger budget for the party than last year, so we should be able to provide more support, like some food on the partyplace.

Please give us suggestions and ask questions :)

In order to get more people to come to Silesia Party, I think it would be an idea if us nordic people talked together about going. To see how big the interest (and possibility for people to go) is. As I don't have a car myself, I would very much like it if lets say a bus from sweden or so was arranged, to pick up people on the way.. I just can't bother to go by train myself.. Travelling with a few others makes it a lot more fun.

There's already quite a few really nice people on the sign up list.

How about buses from/to Krakow?

There are buses ("PKS") from Katowice<->Krakow, and it's easy to get from Czeladz to Katowice within 20 minutes by normal city bus (800 and 814 lines by KZK GOP). "PKS" bus stop is just by the city bus stop in the centre of Katowice. In Czeladz bus stops from/to Katowice are within 5 minutes from party place on own feet ;).

Hey, is anyone interested sharing a ride to Silesia by car?

I was planning on flying over, but if enough people are interested I might decide to travel by car from Holland to the party and pick up some sceners to travel together.

Both Eindhoven and Dusseldorf (Weeze) are very cheap Ryan Air destinations which cover a lot of incoming flights and of course there’s plenty of cities on the route to Silesia (Essen, Dusseldorf, Koln, Kassel, Leipzig, Dresden etc) I would pass by.

My car (a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe) carries up to 7 people with nice comfortable leather seating, air conditioning and a decent stereo able to play as much sids/remixes you can take.. so it’s a hell of a lot more room then for example my 1996 trip to Denmark with 5 people cramped into a tiny Ford Fiesta that kept breaking down :)

Anyone interested?

Yep. Well, my other arragements did not work due to cashwise reasons therefore we'll arrive with Leming on Friday around 22:00.

We're flying from Stansted on Friday, touching down in Katowice at about 20:45. There's a car which can take up two more datageeks right to the partyplace from Katowice's airport so, if anyone is interested - PM me.

Okay, this means we have one spare place in the car going from Katowice Airport to Czeladz (the party place, that is).

So, it's only 16km away, but this is a perfect chance for you in case being scared of polar bears willing to ripp your ass and steal all data - PW me.

We meet around 21:00 at Katowice's airport. And if you're late we won't wait! (c)EasyJet :->

Well the thing is that we have preorder because we don't want to order more t-shirts than it will be needed (I don't think my family would wear them if I had to buy overdozed stock :P), though if many of you will ask for t-shirts for sale just at the place we may consider it.

I don't understand that at all. What's the point of releasing at a party that you're not attending? Why not release straight to CSDB, or to an event dedicated to releasing miscellaneous remote entries like En Mazza Data?

sofasceners can go home. whats wrong with actually attending a party?

imho remote entries are a necessary evil for small parties that otherwise wouldnt get enough entries to establish a compo at all. other than that... please no.

Silesia 3 compos with remote entries: 2 demos, 4 4ks, 12 tunes, 19 pics
without: 2 demos, 3 or 4 4ks, 8 tunes, 11 pics

i don't think it's a 'necessary evil' then, rather a tradition.

I guess if there are parties which disallows remote entries that's really fine. But then, there should be also parties which does allow them.

Simple.

We got both. Both traditional. So, everyone can choose their pill :)

ps. and it's definitely better to release remote stuff at the party which allows such, rather than on the web. It keeps the scene spirit and keeps CSDb function properly - that is, to collect all the stuff.

Typically, if I want to go for a party I book the holidays far in advance.

For instance, for X-partes I book once the date is announced, which is usually over a half of year ahead. Or so.
