its not worth all that money (over 2000 euro right now), because there is so little software for it...

Clearly the C65/64DX is for collection purposes ... the amount of software available means little.

not to mention the fact that the differences between existing machines are great enough to make software that runs fine on one machine incompatible with anoher. ;_)

I was searching for ages. Then one came up on ebay years ago. Shortly afterwards someone I know had a friend who wanted to get rid of theirs. So I got two in quite a short period of time. :)

Damn, a few of us are really pissed we didn't buy these unknown C65 from Grapevine Group (later Paxtron) when they sold them for US$139 in their magazine ads.

Last time I checked the MESS-emulation of C65/C64DX was very basic. For example the VIC3 was not emulated, making it rather pointless.
