Other Gunship game crack
Hi all,
long time ago I had on my disk a cracked version of Gunship, that the intro was done by ESI,but not the traditional ESI style with eagle.Don't know if this was a second re-crack or what.It was classical scroller ,nothing special and from that intro you get out only with restore key.Another feature was, that the game has intro with that upcomming moving helicopter with music like in the original game and not the static picture like in the rest of the cracks.
Anyone remember this one or still have it?

I don´t know anything about this crack, just wanted to suggest to move the thread to the "Requests" forum. Good luck anyway! |

I wonder if you're getting stuff a little confused through the lens of nostalgia? The Gunship crack screen was done by Lawyhawk/TSC and looks like this: Eagle Soft Incorporated Intro (The Right Stuff)
The original Gunship never had an animated game intro. Gunship 2000 does(for the PC, anyway). Raid on Bungeling Bay (C64) does and well, complete with a tune ("Ride of the Valkyries" if I remember right). Perhaps you are confusing one of these titles with the original Gunship?

Wonder why the ESI version got somewhat famous afterall. The single sided Master Kracker version is just awesome (for those times of course) and works flawless. When playing - get that one. :)
Apart from that there indeed was no animated version of the "intro" on the c64.

Oh contraire!
The (in)famous tape(!) version had an intro with a rising helicopter shooting the letters GUNSHIP.

i have an original diskversion that includes the animated intro too. it came with a boxed collection of airfighting games from ubisoft, iirc.
edit: the Lurid & Tricycle crack features the animated intro (Gunship +D) and it might be that i remember it from that crack instead of my original version from the Air/Sea Supremacy collection (http://www.c64-wiki.de/index.php/Air/Sea_Supremacy_%28Sammlung%..) |

My us disk version (v2 I think) has the animated rising copter also.
Microprose were often known to release updates/bug fixes to the games they made. Rather annoying! |

Oh, that's really cool. Did ESI release an updated crack as well?

My original version, which I got has also the animation.Only few cracks has the static picture, like that one from ESI (with that Ladyhawk logo).I ripped that Rapidlok original with a parameter copy and what a suprise, during the boot,my know signature 129X1 appeard, which reminds me that is version which I missed. This signature is also seen on some ather cracks of this game,so dunno if this is common to all rapidlok rips or if the rest was ripped also with that parameter copy way? What I forgot to mention about that other gunship crack, that the intro's border was dark blue and the chars were yellow. My memories are so clear, that I might have seen on my other disks not long ago, that I got from elsewhere and I need to browse them all. That will be a few sleepless nights.... |

Someone really needs to do a jewel crack of Gunship, with a decent fastloader etc.
Better yet, do a cart version! |

the Lurid & Tricycle version has at least a fastloader. that's why i played that one instead of my original. |
