I used to swap with Tg-Acme many moons ago, I knew duplex rang a bell. Just look up old groups you remember, see if names spring to mind =)

Absolutely! There are people I see here that I never heard of, many of whom are old sceners. There was so much warring going on in the old scene, that some releases were deleted from boards, as a method of cheating. Powerful groups suppressed less powerful groups and individual sceners, as an attempt at preventing people from being able to grow and to eliminate those that were considered to be potential future threats. This was all such a mimic of how governments, empires and military powers have operated around the world, for centuries. Now after it is all said and done, we all must piece together missing fragments of 64 scene history. People that were labeled "lamers" were always attacked because of one reason or another. If someone is starting out new, let them grow. If they are interested in the scene, they will eventually contribute to the scene. If people make mistakes, they will eventually learn. What is a "lamer" actually? Everyone has their own definition. "laming" someone is just another form of bullying someone. I got off the main subject but my point is that I can't stand people who victimize others and I have been seeing a few newcomers to the CSDb being picked on for being new. So what! Everyone has a beginning... |

well said my friend.. couldnt agree more. most everyone deserves a chance and is deserving of encouragement. we in demonix always tried to stick to our integrity and standards of humanity and morals. not that we've never been caught up in wars (ahem empire, fantasy, nei, etc - hey those were turbulent competitive times!) er all the commodore 64 was obtained to play games. we were all there once and lets not forget someone once gave us a chance and was patient with our inexperience and "being green". ill never forget back when i was a lamer in the late 80's ('87 perhaps..?) running my 300 baud Reign Of Terror BBS and was permitted to be a user on an "elite" Exodus BBS Fabulous Disaster. |
