Vice slows down and clogs on my damn machines like I was running it on a fucking 486! Seriously, WTF?
Remember when you tried to run CCS64 with full features on a 486 or P1 in the golden years of dial-up internet? Oh yes, it was shitty. And nasty. And noisome. And you wanted to tear out all of your hair for having such a lame machine which can't run the damn emulator as it should. But the time passed, powerful boxes become less expensive, emulators got better, everyone became happier.
Yet, here we are again, only it's 2009 and I have a fucking state-of-the-art machine which runs Photoshop CS3, that shitty piece of bloated software, just as the wind blows a crappy feather on a breezy autumn day!
So, look. Every time it is on, and meanwhile I slightly touch even a fucking, meaningless scrollbar - or MERCIFUL GOD FORBID!!! - I move a window 5 pixels away from it's position, Vice, this beautiful, well thought, optimized-to-the-bone software - which by the way, also enjoys turning off "true drive emulation" randomly just to annoy the shit out of me and aggravate my weak nerves - clogs and jams and stalls and generally slows down.
Could someone explain to me why is this happening? Pretty please. |

Must admit, actually it was really funny. :D
@Oswald: yep, a CTRL+ALT+DEL -> x64.exe -> high priority solves the problem but come on, don't tell me it's perfectly fine that moving a scrollbar in a Notepad window should slow down the fps in Vice. |

with lowprio its "fine" windows doesnt "knows" it should leave more time for vice. unless you tell it to.

FUCK YEAH, so from now on I'll have to set the process priority every time I'd like to see a fucktarded release from TND?
How come WinUAE is not doing this shit in windowed mode? It's just lazy programming I say.

and never set it to realtime and turn on warpmode. you'll never be able to exit warpmode because it doesn't respond to keyboard input anymore \:D/

Jailbird:
Put a batch file in your Vice folder, with the following line:
start /high x64.exe
Point your Vice shortcut to this file instead. |
