In my eyes, this is a great "oldskool demo with newskool sensibilities". Linking some new and really-old routines into a coherent and clean demo must have been a draining and tedious task, but you guys clearly aced it. The starwars scroller, and the various dot scrollers stood out.

I must also add how much I enjoyed the pixel work in this demo.

But for me the demo peaks at the end part with Drax's masterpiece. The whole feeling of the part, augmented by what came before it is plainly heart-stopping. Clear 10 for me.

A well deserved win.
That zoom scroller near the start of side two was particularly epic.

Nowadays I watch all the demos with my 8 month old on my lap. When things get boring, she begins to bang on the keyboard - not once during this one though. Here, she was staring at the screen in amazement, hanging onto my arm for dear life during transitions and occasionally screaming with joy. I confess I'd probably behave the same way if I was somewhat more uninhibited! So much beauty packed here. You guys are the heroes of my youth and watching a new, stylish BZ demo in 21st century is unreal.

Some really nice parts in this demo. Nice music, graphics and some solid code. Congrats, guys, especially on beating Wonderland 13 at X! (though personally I thought they should've won it)

Can't wait to see what you guys do for X 2018.

A blast from the past. This demo feels oldskool while still keeping it fresh. Lovely gfx, fx and transitions. The muzak is fitting. I love the jelly cube and wobbly chesticle. The wraparound scroller had nice shades and shadows. Love it.
You guys have been missing making demos and it shows. This was a labor of love.
BTW, what's your infatuation with testicles? :P

All music and graphics in the demo is new and made for this demo. As we mentioned, some code is old and some is new. We're putting the final touches on a release just for the music. We'll bundle the original SID-files with the release. I did notice that the music was added to HSVC in the latest update, but I'm sure they'll want the official releases from us ... eventually :)

Oh my, opening the demo compo with this? A move which I think put everyone in just the right mood.. and that lineup of SID musicians puts on some SERIOUS expectations which I think was properly fulfilled. Awesome on all levels!

@Clarence
I'll be hated for this (and called a dick by Burglar probably once again) but what the hell:

[...]
What more can you ask for...
[...]

graphix :D

and it's hard for me especially because I'm talking about my another all time heroes (beside Hein) Fox and Dize. I mean the guys I was copying and learning to pixel from.

But to make things clear. I'm uber happy you guys had won. Bonzai for me will remain as synonym for quality and good looking demos.

Bonzai winning the combo at X?
I new it from the beginning when I talked to Trap back then - in spring 2015 or so ;)
Well done guys! Waiting for more. Cockcrusher 2 maybe?

Now, this is what I call a comeback! No way there's anything better than to get a good doze of C-64 code in your brain, a good doze of C-64 graphics in your eyes, a good doze of C-64 music in your ears.
A beer in one hand...standing tall like that tac-2 on the desk! You sure wrote this Phoenix Code outstanding! Fantastic work old boys :)

Great to see you guys in full effect, in a big release like this. The zoomer scroll, and the starwars upscroll are my faves in this one. The soundtrack was made by a list of legends. What more can you ask for...

Awesome comeback. Congrats for the win. I love the way how this combines oldschool vibes with perfect sync and transitions. And that Sinwave-Zoomscroll (Back in the days we would have called it DYZPP) is hot! I hope you plan for a longer visit.

This demo knocked me off the chair. As a first demo to start off with, for a very compo hungry crowd, you couldn't have a better start of the evening ;) The Cheers the applause, I don't think any other demo got so much crowd pleasing feedback as this one. Awesome Comback boyz! I did not expect such a powerful demo as this, congratulations for your X win.. and ofcourse it was awesome to meet you guys at X, I was missing Walt though.
