@trident: you are correct, it's the ghostbyte masking, not the ghostbyte shine-through. I understood the scroller mentioning the smallest font using any ghostbyte technique, I understand now you meant smallest using this specific one. | User Comment Submitted by trident on 30 January 2023
@wacek: I have indeed seen it, and I love it - great trickery in the lower border (and the 3d object is just awesome!), but I had always assumed that the upper border scroll was done with ghostbyte masking. (Among the best, if not the best, ghostbyte masking fonts I've seen, that extra black pixel in the left column looks great.) Is the upper border scroll done with the multicolor ghostbyte shine-through trick? I'm on the lookout for more demos that use it. | User Comment Submitted by wacek on 30 January 2023
@trident: in the scroller you mentioned that it is the smallest one you have ever seen. So I assume you have not seen this one: A Game of Ten
I know, it's not from Camelot or Oxyron, so why bother watching, right? ;) | User Comment Submitted by trident on 30 January 2023 User Comment Submitted by Hate Bush on 30 January 2023

Very nice! Excellent write up on the technique as well! | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 20 January 2023 User Comment Submitted by trident on 20 January 2023 User Comment Submitted by Cruzer on 20 January 2023
Great to see a new version of this trick, which I know from experience is very cumbersome to pull off. And thanks for the nice words about GULBdata! :) Btw, I think you found an excellent term for it with "Ghostbyte shine-through." Now that it has a name, and is thoroughly documented in a PDF, maybe we'll get to see more variants of it in the future. | User Comment Submitted by trident on 20 January 2023
I have added a pdf file that explains the multicolor ghostbyte shine-through trick that powers the scroll in the lower border. This trick was probably first used in Crest Avantgarde and later in Totally Stoned 2 , but for me it wasn't until seeing GULBdata it finally clicked!
The details are in the pdf.
Thanks to HCL and Cruzer for reviewing it before publication! | User Comment Submitted by Matt on 19 January 2023 User Comment Submitted by Peacemaker on 18 January 2023
