MORE INFO - Party Highlights

OFFICIAL BEGINNING

On the Saturday morning Wotnau/Dmagic officially opened the party. He wanted to use a microphone to save his vocal chords, but it seemed that microphone and amplifier were against. As on the previous Forever he had to go without microphone. This was the turning point when the ice of the formality was broken and party could officialy start. Realtime invented schedule was announced, and section organisers introduced.

NEWCOMER PRESENTATION

Big screen presentation of long awaited 11 years developed role playing game by software team Enhanced Newcomer Crew (Hungary) followed by official declaration of Newcomer as a FOREVER 2001 release. Presentation show an atmospherical intro containing excellent graphic and story followed by presentation of gameplay and features of the game.

STARRING:
Speaker: Thunderblade/Dmagic (beta tester of the game)

 Directors: Hoild/ENC, Lay/ENC and ZOLI/ENC (developers team)

METAL DUST PRESENTATION

Big screen action presentation of the soon comming SUPER CPU shot'em-up Metal Dust developed by Protovision (Germany). Game features digitized soundtrack exclusively composed by Welle: Erdball, fullscreen scroller of hostile space environment and an ultimate battle action against dangerous obstacles and enemies.

Starring players:
 Thunderblade/Dmagic, MacGyver/Dmagic, Womana/Dmagic

It was inevitable that brothers know this game and are a good team in two player mode. Still they didn't finish the whole first level thus proving that this great action game is definitely not a strolling through a rose garden.

ATARI DEMO SHOW

Although Atari has not that strong scene as C64 or even Specy, it has again proved it's quality. Presented demos were not only technically perfect, but also based on original ideas. I especially liked the ASCII animated demo called "The Running Cow." ;-) Atari demos are always fun to watch, they aren't just booring bunch of linked effects. C64 demo scene should really start to think more about the content of the demos. In comparison to a lot of Atari demos c64 demos are simply booring.

LIFE by SERZH - 1kb Intro on ZX

Wow, you would never believe what this guy can pack into 1kb. I really don't know how long it lasted but I guess it was some 3-5 minutes of constant movement and action on the screen. When POL saw my astonishment he just added: "and this is just intro, you didn't see his 4 kb demo..." WHAT? A 4kb demo? Oh my god!

ATARI REALTIME compo entry by RASTER

A story showing what can happen to tirelessly working 1000 happy Ants ;-). Author won 4 compos of 13 competitions. Need to say more?

GASMAN/Raww Arse

This is another phenomenon. Gasman (UK) who came to Forever for the second time has again proved his talent. He won speccy democompo in the competition of 4 demo entries and also a speccy music compo. Whattatune!! His olschool demo made in international cooperation was probably the most valuable thing released in the Forever competitions.

SID sound rules

After the prize giving ceremony XI came to me with speaking for some Atari guys who suspected some c64 tunes of utilising the samples. Atari music compo rules strictly denied the use of samples and XI even had to reject one tune because of that. Wow. As you would hear soon none of the tunes use the samples. This only proves how powerful SID sound is.

Bugjam's surprise

After the prize giving ceremony Bugjam/Role came to us offering 3 complete C64 sets (computer+disc drive) for free. Wotnau, our master of the ceremonies announced whether there is anyone who wants them. People probably were so shocked that nobody applied for them. Later c64's have been given to PCH/Unreal, Orcan/React (his SID died some time ago) and CVM/Zeroteam (although he is a speccy guy, he once had a c64 which was, however, broken). I hope they will use the machines wisely. Thank you Bugjam.

Atarix 1/2001

I've bought a latest issue of Atari fan-zine produced by XI/Satantronic - Atarix. Because It contained a Forever 2000 report. I've told XI that I'm buying it just because I want to read all those jealous Atari opinions to have reason to send an angry E-mail to him ;-). Of course I was wrong. Party reports in Atarix were quite objetive and helped me to recall how great previous Forever was ;-). Althoug this year was also great, we still have a lot to improve.

(CreaMD/Dmagic)

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR ON FOREVER 2002!
