Release id #108417 : Pytanie do Raf'a
Dear CSDB users.
I want to ask you about your point of view on Scene rule.
If I used Arise Logo in my production I'm lamer or thief ?
If I want to use it legally I should ask Arise group about it?
What is your point of view? |

Oh, nothing like that. I've asked question about Scene rules.
For example if I use logo: "Arise #$10" in my production to indicate that my product is a comment to Arise #$10 production is this allowed by Scene rules or not? |

If its some sort of dedication to a group or other professional release, then I don't see how that would be "breaking scene rules"... then again, I'm not a scene veteran as you know. Besides, this was a party/meeting release and not a CSDb release... completely different ballgame in my opinion.
I tell you what IS lame though... ripping graphics and modifying it with some sort of "badge" that implies that you created the graphics all alone. Check out some of dflame(r)'s Crypt demos to get my point. |

@Condrad, In your opinion there is diffrent rule for CSDB and Scene ? This is why I've asked about Scene rule.
Is anyone can help me? Can I use this logo for my product without permission? |

a) csdb rules are irrelevant in this context, i guess (and yes, they can be - sometimes radically - different)
b) i'd look at it similar to using a sid tune made by someone else. ie by tradition its not really necessary to ask anyone - however saying that you made it yourself is considered lame :) |
